Hello. I'm sorry if this is not actually a bug but just due to the way the party exp formula works, however I couldn't find the party exp formula anywhere so I thought I'd post a thread. I was partying with a level 57 islander (I was a level 16 islander). I was getting 18 exp per pig I killed, and 8 exp per pig he killed. He was getting 39 exp per pig he killed, and 29 per pig I killed. This seems pretty unreasonable, unless it's just due to the formula and the fact that he's 41 levels higher than me? I'm not sure, which is why I'm posting this here. Thanks. When I left the party, I got the normal 48 exp/kill.
This is not a bug. When you're not in a party, the server will calculate how much EXP you should get by figuring out how much damage you did in relation to the monster's max HP, then Holy Symbol's bonus (obviously doesn't apply to Islanders), and then it'll take your EXP rate (either 3.2x or 1x on the island). When in a party, it'll first split the EXP between party members at a rate of 1x, then multiply their EXP by 3.2 (for non-Islanders) as the server adds EXP to each member (rather than before splitting it up). So that is why you are seeing the EXP numbers. That is normal and correct behavior
