EDIT:I've decided to revise this into something much more coherent and concise, so here we go.
All of these options should be set by the party leader, and a message to all party members when something is changed either in chat, or a dialogue box, the former being preferred.

(Free for all) Everyone is able to pick up everyone else's drops in the party. First come first serve.
(Round Robin) Player A can pick up Player B's drops and the items are distributed among the party as a whole. For example player A picks up a grenade and it goes into player A's inventory. Then Player A finds Ambassador Pineapple again, but this time, it's sent to Player B and the process repeats.
(Default) I don't need to explain this.
(Only the leader is allowed to loot) self explanatory. <<The worst suggestion

I would first like to preface this by saying that the flaws of my suggestion would be giving too much power to the party leader and possibly opening people up to abuse from said system. However, I am still suggesting it because I feel that it could easily be tweaked to compensate for this. As I'm not a developer, I don't know how easy/difficult it would be to help prevent these issues.

My suggestion is the following, which i believe the later versions of maplestory added though i may be confusing it with something else, if that's the case, i apologize.

The leader of the party could set looting options such as individual players only being able to loot their drops from what they killed or their share from bosses (default).

Set it to where everyone in the party is able to loot everyone else's things. This is a particularly biased opinion of my own because i typically don't party with people that I don't know. I have never gotten to high level play so this could be a serious issue when... bossing i think the term is. Again, something that I'm sure can be altered by the admins and devs.

I could see a global message to everyone in the party that settings have been changed so the leader can't sneak anything in at the last second along with the inability to change these options in PQ's or boss dungeons.

Further loot options could even include that only the party leader can pick up items, I want to say that this option can be either devastating or extremely beneficial. Put a trading timer on all items dropped from a boss room that only members of the same party can trade the party leader for. This would prevent soulbound items from being traded and abusing this. A system very similar to Diablo, but giving more power to the leader which could be a very bad thing.

These ideas have their problems and I'm sorry its a bit convoluted, but I trust that people other than me can refine them into something better. Once again, I've never been to high level play so i don't know how boss looting works, so if the trading between party members is actually a thing already, sorry.

While my ideas could be abused, I still feel that there could be measures taken to prevent it from people smarter than myself.

More options are always better, that's like asking me why I would want resolution options. Still keeps nostalgia and anything that enables ease of use and convenience is never unwelcome.

I like the free for all option since that's the way regular gms was/is. The loot delay is really annoying in pqs and I honestly don't see the benefit in having the delay at all. If you're going to party with someone you should know there's a possibility that they can take the drops that you wanted.
