The original Maplestory had a lot of Party quests, primarily focused around the 2nd job and early 3rd job experience. I wanted to discuss rebalancing the current and future Party Quests for lv51+ and breath new life into the PQs while giving people who are in 3rd job levels, another way to reach 4th job (and also reaching bossing levels). Currently, this is the current Party Quests: Kerning PQ..................- Level 21+ Carnival PQ.................- Level 30~50 Ludibrium PQ.............- Level 35+ Carnival #2 PQ...........- Level 51~70 Ludibrium Maze PQ...- Level 51~70 Orbis PQ.....................- Level 51~80 Lord Pirate PQ...........- Level 70~100 There's yet to be released PQs such as Ellin Forest PQ (Level 45~55) and Romeo & Juliet (Magatia) PQ (Level 71~85). Here's what I propose for a rebalance of the Party Quests: Kerning PQ..................- Level 21+ Carnival PQ.................- Level 30~50 Ludibrium PQ.............- Level 35+ Carnival #2 PQ...........- Level 51~70 Orbis PQ.....................- Level 51+ Lord Pirate PQ...........- Level 70~100 Ludibrium Maze PQ...- Level 91~110 Romeo & Juliet PQ....- Level 111+ [Yet to be released] Ellin Forest PQ..........- Level 125+/120+ [Yet to be released] [-] Orbis PQ (Level 51+) + Removing level cap will allow for an influx of players to this PQ + Higher level players will be willing to PQ with lower level players akin to KPQ & LPQ + Staff can use the revival of the PQ to possibly glean any further balancing to this PQ [-] Ludibrium Maze PQ (Level 91~110) + Rebalanced levels will revive the PQ and help give an option to players for training + Will indirectly lead to more traffic to Ludibrium and therefore more participants in LPQ - Devs has to rebalance the PQ to match suggested PQ levels - Shortage of participants in PPQ at lv91/90s - Players in 3rd Job will still feel fatigue of "fast as possible pqs" - Requires rebalancing of rewards to match player participants [-] Romeo & Juliet (Magatia) PQ (Level 111+) + Rebalanced levels will avoid conflicting with PPQ + Allows for PQ option in the lv110s/120s besides solo/duo or trio party grinding - Devs has to rebalance the PQ to match suggested PQ levels - Requires rebalancing of rewards to match player participants [-] Ellin Forest PQ (Level 125+/120+) + Repurposed levels will prevent it from barely played + Gives an option to players in early 4th job levels - Devs has to rebalance the PQ to match suggested PQ levels - May possibly need additional reward to spice up the PQ ----------- Please vote and comment your thoughts if possible.
Depending on the exp this may kill the entire leeching economy not to mention regular grinding and will completely transform the server into pq and bossing. I do not care for leeching but I feel like there needs to at least be 30 levels for grinding as it's a nostalgic element and making the entire journey a pq is just killing the nostalgia. I would love to have more pqs but not for exp instead I would like the pqs to give out rewards that matter instead.
I like the idea of removing the level cap of PQs e.g. for PPQ, Orbis PQ. Unpopular opinion (probably): I think the two CPQs should be nerfed in terms of exp.
Having higher level PQs won't kill leeching, especially since leeching will always be superior starting at around ~lv67 with FTP1 and general lazy/washing players will require leechers to be present to provide a service. As for general grinding, I think that it'll still be sought after with Headless Horseman, Wolf Spiders, Ulu1/2, Himes, Temple of Time, and Petris/Skeles (and more if I forgot any).
Lol you forgot the most dead PQs that I never see people do (and a lot don't even know they exist lol) which are ariant pq and hene pq
I definitely like the idea of revitalizing PQs, but I think the current leech/HP wash meta is the #1 if not sole contributor to low level content being dead (also in a lot of instances, grinding is just much faster.)
Suggestions to buff party quests have been requested (and at times granted!) time and time again throughout this server. Given the obstacles of organizing a viable party as well as the fact that party-driven gameplay should be encouraged (especially amongst newer players whose road to popular late-game content is often extremely lonely), I don't see why party quests shouldn't be much more rewarding in terms of exp and rewards than they are currently. I know we always talk about nostalgia as a driving incentive for joining Royals. But at least for me anecdotally, my search for nostalgia in this server came to an abrupt end many years ago upon realization that every single major party quest was completely deserted. That said, I'm not sure how I feel about the level redistribution of LMPQ and RJPQ.
My proposed level redistribution is more to serve as an example than anything else. You're free to offer what you think would be best

I think what @Sinner92 had posted about Ellin Forest in another thread, it's realistically viable to have the area be reworked to sort of a early 4th job area/pq.
