So I've read several threads on weapon comparison for Heroes, here are the ones I've read: https://royals.ms/forum/threads/sword-comparisons.20163/ Sybe's post on this thread: https://royals.ms/forum/threads/the-best-option.14714/ Current I am using a 126/16 ST and usually apple for bosses. But I'm wondering, since I rarely have SI, would perfecting a RK and shield be worth the venture? Or should I just hop on the bandwagon and get a perfect ST? Thanks for any advice.
heres another one: https://royals.ms/forum/threads/sword-comparisons.20163/ also if you want to Neshium made a spreadsheet: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/8135545/Maple_Warrior-Weapon-Comparison.xlsx also pyrope sword > red katan since same attack speed better stats.
You'd be better of perfecting a ST as @ImCanadian stated above. It's simply not worth perfecting a shield and sword when you can invest that time into making a SI mule.
You should be using high end pots (apples, heartstoppers) and 2 handed swords are much better than 1h for those. You get a higher dmg multiplier when using 2h swords and it also applies to the atk you get from apples/heartstoppers as well. All in all, much more worth to go 2 handed, a st is faster than a claymore too so it isn't required to make an si mule (although still beneficial)
For anyone who is wondering on how to gear a hero or paladin... Assuming dexless and equal gear except for the 25 str, 27 dex top and bottom for ST and 40 str, 5 dex overall for Carabella, RK, and pyrope, and 20 str, 30 att Maple Shield with the pyrope, RK, and Carabella, you get the following: DPS with apple, without SI: Maple Pyrope Sword: 212,730 Red Katana: 208,050 Stonetooth Sword: 204,369 Dragon Carabella: 202,227 DPS with stopper, without SI: Maple Pyrope Sword: 185,717 Red Katana: 181,201 Dragon Carabella: 177,701 Stonetooth sword: 176,946 DPS with apple, with SI: Stonetooth Sword: 223,833 Dragon Carabella: 221,487 Maple Pyrope Sword: 212,730 Red Katana: 208,050 DPS with stopper, with SI: Dragon Carabella: 194,625 Stonetooth Sword: 193,798 Maple Pyrope Sword: 185,717 Red Katana: 181,201 This leads to the following conclusions: 1. Without SI, a pyrope is the best weapon in game. 2. With SI, a pyrope is the third best weapon in game. 3. STs are better than Carabellas on apples. 4. Carabellas are better than STs on stoppers. 5. To out DPS a pyrope, both STs and Carabellas need SI. 6. RKs will never have the best DPS. But then you have to consider the practicality. Pyropes, RKs, and Carabellas require you to perfect 17 slots. Of those 17, you should WS 10% all 7 slots in the sword and WS 10% 7 slots in the shield, assuming you land 3 30%s. On average, it takes 10 WS to perfect one slot. WS 10%ing 14 slots will take you 140 WS, which is 42b assuming WS at 300m each. Perfecting a ST by WS 10%ing all 7 slots will take you 70 WS, which is 21b assuming WS at 300m each. Now we consider how likely it is that you'll have SI. Most of the time, you won't have SI. Buccs going to Zak, Krex, and HT is rarer than not. So you have to think about making your own SI mule. That will take you a maximum 2b in Orbis Exchange Quest etc. and leech. This totals the cost of using a ST at 23b and a Carabella at 44b. You'll have max SI at level 126. Consider bloodwashing it, putting all AP into HP. You can rely on Honsters and pet auto HP to keep your SI mule alive. Dual clienting at bosses shouldn't pose any problems. If you have a full party, like in HT, kick the SE and invite SI. Once the party has SI, kick the SI and invite SE. Max SI lasts 300 seconds, 5 minutes. Juggling takes effort, but overall isn't too hard. In summary, if you are willing to put a fortune into your gear and you want the best DPS without SI, make a Maple Pyrope Sword and Maple Shield. If you are willing to dual client with your SI mule and you want the best DPS on apple, make a Stonetooth Sword. Carabellas are second choice for bossing, since you would only stopper at things like BF and Pap. And Red Katanas are just lol. XD Hope this helps!
If you want to use a claymore then you should make an si mule as a claymore without si is much worse than a st. You need to invest in both an si mule and crafting/searching for a claymore which is a lot of effort for 4att
Only reason to make a claymore is to bf and if you want to have a really high range. Si isn't nearly as common as it would need to be to make going with claymore instead of st actually worth it.
I feel like there have actually been more buccs lately so it isn't completely out of the question, especially if you have someone who would duo with you. And if you do have an si mule, might as well go claymore over st. @liomo some people might still have base dex which they can also get rid of by going claymore so it could be more than 4 atk range difference^^
Imho, you shoud buy my perfect RK, save yourself some trouble, and work on a shield . Every hero and his mom use ST, nothing special about them.
