Note: Pink Bean is not released in Royals at the moment and there is no absolute confirmation as to whether or not it would be released in future. However i have been taking notes on Pink Bean for awhile now and figured i'd create a comprehensive guide with everything related to Temple of Time regardless. If it were to be released, I'm guessing it won't be till at least towards the end of 2015, we certainly do not have enough attackers as of now.

    Pre-Quest

Similar to how Zakum requires you to do the Stage 1 Party Quest, Jump Quest and Gold Tooth Quest (one-time quest) before you are able to enter the altar or Horntail where you Kill Manon and get other ingredients (repeated-quest for each entry 5 Entries in Royals), Pink Bean has both of these Elements.

The first Quest is Activated at Time Lane: Three Doors via NPC Temple Keeper
*Temple of Time is accessible via Leafre (I don't think i'd need to explain how one gets there)

The Temple Keeper will have a whole string of quest in-line; each one enables you to enter an additional map further into the Temple of Time. Most of these Quests require you to eliminate monsters hence keep killing the required monsters and returning to NPC Time Keeper each time to activate the new quest.

Marble of Chaos is consumed when you enter the Deep Place of Temple: Temple Ruins (automatically) so be sure not to enter beyond Deep Place of Temple: Broken Corridor unless you have a Pink Bean run scheduled or you will lose the Marble.

*This quest is repeated each time you go for a Pink Bean run (Similar to how Horntail’s Secret Medicine quest is repeated for each entry)

General Information on Pink Bean & Statues

Much like how one has to defeat all 8 arms of Zakum before attempting the 3 bodies or having to deal with Horntail’s pre-heads before the actual Horntail battle, Pink Bean has its own set of pre-bosses to be defeated before you can actually attempt at the Boss itself.

Here you can see the different ‘Statues’ and Pink Bean itself, marked by numbers. Before I explain the numbers attached to each Statue & Pink Bean, let me run down the information for each of these bosses (in spoilers)

In General: All Statues & Pink Bean are Level 180, that would mean the minimum requirement for a player to Pink Bean would be Level 175 (similar to the requirement of Horntail being 155 as the Boss is Level 160)

    1. Wiseman Solomon
    [IMG]
    HP: 300,000,000
    EXP: 3,000,000
    Casts Seal, 1/1, Stun,

    2. Wiseman Rex
    [IMG]
    HP: 300,000,000
    EXP: 3,000,000
Casts Darkness, Mass Dispel, 1/1, Zombify, Confusion

    3. Huigin
    [IMG]
    HP: 450,000,000
    EXP: 3,500,000
Casts Seal, Weakness, Cancel Weapon/Magic Attacks, Weapon/Magic Damage Reflection, Seduce

    4. Muinin
    [IMG]
    HP: 450,000,000
    EXP: 3,500,000
Casts Darkness, Poison Mist (Inflicts 2k Damage/second) Weakness, Weapon/Magic Damage Reflection, Seduce

    5. Ariel
    [IMG]
    HP: 600,000,000
    EXP: 20,000,000
Casts Dispel, Cancel Weapon/Magic Attack, Zombify
Regenerates HP (unsure of amount at the moment)

    6. Pink Bean
    [IMG]
    HP: 2,100,000,000
    EXP: 62,900,000
Casts Seal, Confusion, Seduce, Zombie, Damage Reflection and Summons Mini-Beans
[IMG] (Mini Beans HP: 138,000, usually casts Cancel Weapon/Magic attack shortly after spawning which can be extremely annoying!)

*Zombify is a skill that turn characters on the map 'undead', which means a bishop's heal will kill players instead of healing them

*Confusion is a skill that reverses your right & left and up & down motions

*Damage Reflect is a skill where when your character attacks the boss, damage is reflected back to yourself, instantly killing yourself in the process

    Six-Phased Sequence

Here’s where it gets a little complicated. You don’t just defeat each of the 5 Statues once and proceed to challenge Pink Bean. There are a total of 6 Phases to Pink Bean, where the Pink Bean itself forms the final Phase (6). The other 5 Phases comprises of Statues, each having an additional statue as the Phase progresses.

    Phase 1: Wiseman Solomon
Phase 2: Wiseman Solomon + Wiseman Rex
Phase 3: Wiseman Solomon + Wiseman Rex + Huigin
Phase 4: Wiseman Solomon + Wiseman Rex + Huigin + Muinin
Phase 5: Wiseman Solomon + Wiseman Rex + Huigin + Muinin + Ariel
    Phase 6: Pink Bean

This means essentially you’ll be killing Wiseman Solomon 5 times, Wiseman Rex 4 times, Huigin 3 times, Muinin 2 times and Ariel once, before even getting a chance at Pink Bean.

Each Phase is denoted by a different colored HP Bar, similar to how Zakum’s 3 bodies are denoted by
    Red (B1), Yellow (B2) and Green (B3).

    Phase 1: Light Green
    Phase 2: Dark Blue
    Phase 3: Light Blue
    Phase 4: Purple
    Phase 5: Dark Green
    Phase 6: Red

Just exactly how much HP is that when combined altogether?

    Phase 1: 300,000,000 HP
    Phase 2: 600,000,000 HP
    Phase 3: 1,050,000,000 HP
    Phase 4: 1,500,000,000 HP
    Phase 5: 2,100,000,000 HP
    Phase 6: 2,100,000,000 HP
Total: 7,650,000,000 HP (In comparison, Horntail’s main body has 2,080,000,000 HP)

Oh and if that’s not enough of a challenge, there’s a time-limit of 60 Minutes attached to Pink Bean! (Probably have to be nerfed to 2 or 3 hours for this server as we do not have Potentials – We’ll see when/if this gets released!)

    Drops

    - Maple Warrior 30 (I believe it drops more than 1 at a time, up to 3? Correct me if i'm wrong)

    - Reverse Equipments (Level 120 set - Drops may/may not be disabled in this server if Pink Bean releases)

    - Rocks of Time (up to 3 in a run - Used to craft Timeless Equipments, which may be disabled in this server, no confirmation however)

    Pre-Requirements for Characters

    - Minimum Level: 175

    - Ranged Characters (BM/XBM/NL/Sair) with minimum 11,500 HP before HB (which equals to 18,400 with HB)
    - Melee (Warriors) Preferably minimum 18,750 HP before HB (which equals to 30,000 with HB)
    - Shadowers with minimum of 6,000 HP before HB (which equals to 9,600 with HB)
    > Not sure about HP for Buccaneer and MP for Mages (probably 18,750 MP for Mages, if it even matters)

    - Attack Potions would definitely be required throughout the battle (Heartstoppers or maybe even Apples as minimum requirement) as time plays a crucial factor in Pink Bean (This depends on the Time Limit of Pink Bean in Royals if it gets released as it may be nerfed)

    - Minimum Clean Range may/may not be a requirement (We already lack attackers as it is so...yeah)

Squad Composition (Based on Personal Experience, Research and Videos)

An ideal Squad would probably consist of 2 Melee and 2 Ranged parties such as the following
Melee Party 1: Dark Knight + Bishop + Any other Melee (x4)
Melee Party 2: Dark Knight + Bishop + Any other Melee (x4)
    Ranged Party 3: Dark Knight + Bishop + Bow/Crossbow Master + Night Lord (x3)
    Ranged Party 4: Dark Knight + Bishop + Bow/Crossbow Master + Night Lord (x3)

A 5th party could be formed, i'm not sure how that'll fare in terms of contributing to the lag, but it could consist of back up Dark Knights and Bishops maybe.

    Strategy for each Phase

Phase 1 starts with the entire Squad on the left killing Wiseman Solomon

Phase 2 starts with everyone taking out Wiseman Solomon before moving to the right for Wiseman Rex

    - As Rex is about to be killed, have both ranged parties stationed to the left where they were first killing Wiseman Solomon previously (This is to prevent Seduce when Huigin spawns in Phase 3)

    - If there are 2 melee parties, assign one to head to the left as well (this is to speed up the process of killing Solomon & Huigin while the remaining melee party takes care of Rex)

For Phase 3, Range (+ 1 Melee party if there is 2) starts on the left with Solomon, followed by Huigin (while staying within the safe parameters - explained below)
The other melee party takes down Rex over at the right side. The goal would be to kill Huigin before Rex is down such that Rex would be the final statue of Phase 3, allowing a range party to cross-over towards the right before Phase 4 begins.

Phase 4 begins with 1 Ranged and 1 Melee party on each side taking down Solomon and Rex respectively, followed by Huigin and Muinin. The goal is for both side to kill their respective statues at about the same time (hence it is important to balance out the parties within the Squad based on range - i.e. not having 1 ranged party godly while the other being significantly weaker)

Phase 5 begins the same as Phase 4, only with an additional statue Ariel that's usually targeted last after the 4 prior statues are killed

Phase 6, where Pink Bean is released from the center, the goal is to keep it facing towards the right side (pinning to the left) in order to avoid Seduce and pay extra attention for Damage Reflect

    - When Pink Bean faces the right side, it casts 1/1 whereas if it were to face the left side, it is prone to casting seduce and stun

    - Damage Reflect without a doubt is the most dangerous and complicated aspect of Pink Bean. Regardless of whether you've washed your character to 30k hp (even for BM/NL), without paying proper attention, you WILL be killed if you accidentally attack while Damage Reflect is in effect.

    Handling Damage Reflect (DR)

The first thing to note here would be differentiating between the different Damage Reflect symbols (This skill is new, after v0.62 so you won't be seeing this on any other existing bosses right now)
    [IMG] signifies Weapon Damage Reflect
[IMG] signifies Magic Damage Reflect (for Mages)
[IMG] signifies Weapon & Magic Damage Reflect (both)

The first two symbols applies to Statues Huigin and Muinin where only one of them will be in effect at any one point of time. You can prevent them from casting Damage Reflect (see below)
The third symbol comes from Pink Bean, this affects everyone regardless of Mage or Non-Mage

The idea behind surviving Pink Bean's Damage Reflect is to notice its pattern of casting, and players who have attempted Pink Bean pre-big bang would probably be most familiar with the timer method. Allow me to explain how this goes about to the best I can.

    Things to know beforehand:

    - Pink Bean casts its first Damage Reflect at 90% HP. Thanks to our special ~bosshp command, we can easily point out when this occurs instead of gauging the length of HP Bar

    - Damage Reflect has a cool-down of 43 seconds, which means it casts Damage Reflect approximately every 43 seconds (this is derived from the earliest duration it has ever cast a DR) however we shall take this as 40 seconds for better understanding (also safer for the squad instead of going till the very last second and possibly dying from retracting too late)

    - The effect of Damage Reflect itself lasts anywhere from 20-33 seconds which gives a window period of at least 7-10 seconds where it is safe to attack Pink Bean each time

How the Squad takes note of Damage Reflect:

    - When Pink Bean uses its first DR, the Squad Leader (or anyone else assigned) will say out the time in which the next DR will occur

E.g. Timer reads [43:35] when Pink Bean casts Damage Reflect. Immediately, the Squad Leader will say "55"

Explanation: Basically reducing 40 seconds off the clock (or adding 20 seconds for easier Math) to let everyone know when the next Reflect is likely to occur
This means that at [43:35] the Squad stops attacking for a brief moment while the Damage Reflect Symbol is active, once the symbol disappears (after 1-2 seconds, giving it time to fully disappear) they carry on attacking UNTIL the timer reaches [42:55] before they expect another DR.

It is important to note that Pink Bean WILL NOT cast DR exactly at [42:55] but any second on from then, so one cannot simply keep subtracting 40 seconds from a fixed timer of [43:35]. Every subsequent Damage Reflect will result in a new timer (said out To All by someone monitoring).
E.g. The next Reflect comes in at [42:51], Squad Leader/Person says "11" and the whole process repeats again and again till the death of Pink Bean

Wouldn't it be a waste of time to keep waiting for Damage Reflect to occur as every second is crucial to defeating Pink Bean?

Absolutely, however you would also want to be careful that you do not die, more than anything else. After all Wheel of Fortune/Destiny do not exist in this server (It may or may not be included in the future, we don't know). However, there is a trick to counter this. (only attempt this if you truly understand how this works or risk dying)

Say using the same example as above where DR is cast at [43:35] followed by [42:51], if everyone stops at [42:55] they're essentially wasting 4 seconds waiting on the DR to occur. The way to go about this is to continue attacking Pink Bean despite the potential DR-incoming, but carefully and strategically attacking Pink Bean as it is in the midst of another animation. In other words, Pink Bean cannot cast Damage Reflect while it is actively casting another animation/attacking you, hence giving you that window-period to attack it before it actually casts the next DR.

Here's a video that i find extremely useful in helping to understand how Damage Reflect can be kept track of with the timers (if you don't understand my above explanation)

Focus would be from 9:40 onwards

    Tips & Tricks

Look at the following lines below
    [IMG]

The Green Line represents the confined space where everyone stays at to kill the respective Wisemans (On the left of Solomon & right of Rex).

The *Red Line represents the Damage Reflect proximity of Huigin & Muinin where if anyone steps beyond the respective lines, Damage Reflect is likely to be cast.

The *Blue Line represents the Seduce range of Huigin & Muinin where if anyone steps beyond the respective lines, they are likely to be seduced.
*It should be safe to cross over without fearing Damage Reflect and/or Seduce IF the Statue has not been attacked at all yet.

The **Pink Box represents the safe area (lying down) to avoid Ariel's and Pink Bean's Genesis-like attack that dishes out the most magic attack damage
**Personally i'm not aware of this and i've never tried this before so it may or may not be true, i got this information from researching.
If proved to be true, it could solve the issue of higher leveled character not having enough HP due to lack of washing.

That should be all for now, i'm pretty sure the Guide isn't 100% complete but this is the best i'm able to come up with based on my own personal experience with Pink Bean and with the aid of Southperry, MapleWiki, Hiddenstreet and Mardiapb sites as references.

Feel free to share any other information i may have missed out, or point out errors (if any). We can also use this thread as a form of discussing alternative strategies to kill Pink Bean most effectively (it's the best planning we can do given that the content isn't in-game yet, that's hoping it would eventually though)

This looks like ideal real-estate to plug my ToT QUEST LEECHING SERVICE

But seriously, thanks for the detailed guide. Whether this content is released or not, it's nice for players who had quit by the time pink bean came out (like myself) to be able to make informed comments on the subject.

I'm a bit skeptical on this release due to the simple fact that it would require an insane amount of dedication to hp wash (at least for ranged classes), therefore making the content very limited to just a handful of players.

Not that I'm opposed to the release, it will be the toughest boss so it's reasonable that it's only viable for the most elite players. However the requirement of 11.5k hp for ranged class...yeah

Guess if you want to be super prepared, start making new chars now and hp wash and double wash :p

As far as I know, DR hits for a max of 15k (5k~15k) and Pink bean's magic hits for a max of 11k. I don't have good sources for this, just random reading around, but I'm aiming for 26.1k hp with HB (16.3k hp clean) to be able to survive a DR hit + magic in the worst case scenario.

Edit: Actually this google search comes up with plenty of people supporting this: https://www.google.com.pe/webhp?sou...=2&ie=UTF-8#q=pink bean damage reflect 26k hp

I believe Statue Ariel was the main threat in terms of inflicting high magic damage on players (up to 17k iirc) hence the requirement of 18k Min with HB. This however was nerfed at a later version (presumably after big bang) such that ranged characters only needed 11-12k HP after HB instead of 18k. Assuming that we'll be getting the first version of Pink Bean (Original Pink Bean was released in June 2009 whereas Big Bang happened in December 2010), it should be the original one that dealt the higher magic attack damage.

Interesting find on DR's max damage however. It actually makes sense as i do remember moments where I had a little delay in reaction time and took in a lot of damage yet surviving DR before, though that was during Empress runs (from a much later version of Maple). I thought the original DR (when it was first introduced) worked in a 'one-hit-kill' manner without the 5-15k range and it looks like I may have been wrong in assuming so (based on the google search you did) but well, if that's the case then Pink Bean wouldn't be as hard for players with >20k HP (all the more reason to wash!).

Focus would still be vital as i believe one could very well accidentally attack twice or more while DR is active. Good note on the 26.1k HP (with HB) & 16.3k HP (clean) though!

Was Instant death avoidable? Maybe you could bring shadowers along and smoke shell the attack.

I don't remember, to be honest. I don't think shifter worked on it, but smokescreen might work. As I said, it was no big deal on GMS due to the availability of Wheels.

I'm not sure what is this 'insta kill' skill you're talking about. I have over 100 PB kills (from diffrent patches, many solos too) on my belt from EMS and I've never encountered this. Also I have never ever noticed anyone mentioning this before. If you could actually post SS or video where is this skill shown?

Only thing I could think of is hitting DR without having the icon on PBs head. It was a common bug that the DR icon disappeared for few secs while it was still on

This boss is easily doable without wheels if you know what you're doing and have enough HP. I can guarantee.

EDIT: I believe hits that took % ammount of your HP instead of dealing x ammount of damage didin't got released before Arkarium, Hilla, Magnus and Root Abyss was released (can't remmber which came first lol), correct me if I'm wrong. I'm not counting 1/1 skills here cause I believe they work diffrent.

As Miika mentioned above, i have not encountered this 'instant death' skill before either. I'm familiar with Pink Bean from pre-bb up till v117.2 and from the countless number of rounds i've attempted, no one has experienced this 'instant death' either. People mainly die from not paying attention to the DR timer (which unfortunately kills most players easily and takes awhile to understand on how it works - even for myself at first).

    Also Miika has a point on DR effect not displaying at times, which is why one should wait for a couple of seconds after DR is presumed to be gone before continuing to attack as mentioned on the first post;
That said, feel free to post any source you find online that mentions about this 'instant death' skill if any.

My only PB experience is from a v.83 private server (whose name rhymes with mutiny). But I did over 20 PB runs there, and I saw way more people die from getting seduced and hit by genesis than DR. Also Dark Knights died the most while NLs had the easiest time.

Makes sense if they were keeping their HP low to trigger berserk, and Pink Bean's seduce lasts a lot longer than horntail. However i believe it only uses seduce when its being pinned towards the right side (pb facing left) hence the goal would be to pin it towards the left side (pb facing right) where it'll cast 1/1 instead.

Also I've got quite a bit of stuff to update/change with the first post (which i'll do so in time to come). This includes the skill 'Magic Crash' that can eliminate DR issues altogether if alternated between 3 warriors(do all 3 warriors have them?). We don't have any official information on receiving the skill update yet so i'll wait on that. Doubt Pink Bean will be released immediately after the new source anyway.

Since damage reflect don't work I think PB will take time.

How does Damage reflect work? I'm interested if you know any numbers of how much damage you take from attacking during dr and how the damage is calculated. Good to know how many times I can attack before I kill myself.

Damage that damage reflects deals to you is not affected by your own damage at all. It's always the same, at PB, can't remember the presise DR damage but it does +15k
