I didn't know whether to put this in discussion, guides, or somewhere else, so I'll just leave it here to start. Hopefully this is a useful analysis, especially for people planning and shopping for upgrades. Maybe it can also spark some discussion about market pricing and game economy. A while back I was wondering what the best "bang for buck" was for CGS. Discussing single slot equip optimization is moot, because higher WA items never seem to be better meso/WA. However, multiple slot optimization is worth investigating because multivariable problems can have multiple solutions, and some solutions can be inferior to others. In order to do this, we need some price data - thank you @Pastural for their Spring 2025 price research (yay Kamuna!) This approximate pricing data is about an year old, so if you have updated prices please send them in! Spoiler: CGS Price Chart as of Spring 2025 (updated prices wanted!) attack cape gloves shoes 7 - - 2,200,000,000 8 - - 3,000,000,000 9 - - 4,500,000,000 10 2,300,000,000 - 6,200,000,000 11 3,200,000,000 - 8,500,000,000 12 4,500,000,000 - 11,000,000,000 13 6,000,000,000 - 14,000,000,000 14 8,300,000,000 - 16,000,000,000 15 11,000,000,000 2,000,000,000 23,000,000,000 16 15,000,000,000 3,000,000,000 30,000,000,000 17 19,000,000,000 6,300,000,000 40,000,000,000 18 25,000,000,000 9,200,000,000 53,000,000,000 19 33,000,000,000 12,000,000,000 - 20 50,000,000,000 19,000,000,000 - 21 65,000,000,000 22,500,000,000 - 22 - 28,000,000,000 - 23 - 43,000,000,000 - 24 - 85,000,000,000 - We can then use this price data to crudely perform multi-variable optimization (pls don't look at my python ). There are no inferior (dominated) solutions, but some equivalent ones like 37, 40, 43, and 61 WA. If there's any other analysis you'd like to see I can try to cook them up! Can you shorten tables to just be millions instead of full mesos? The full width doesn't fit well and there's no nice scrollbar to use. Anyways good work now can you go implement the rest of my gear optimizer spreadsheet? I'm too lazy to do most of it
I was wondering if it even fit in other peoples screens, guess not! Updated. (what else are you doing in your optimizer?)
Well, it calculates mainstat and offstat value relative to WA, and then it finds CGS/weapon/belt prices (estimated belt prices based off VL belt scrolling costs). But still missing things like earrings, rings, top/bot/overall, eye, and shield. Maybe also some more untrade stuff but that's a lot harder to pin prices down on, especially with one of a kind stuff.
I feel like at that point you're re-implementing the game client (okay if you give me price data I'll try to see what I can do)
