I was recently banned from saying the word "NIQQUH" on smega. (no racism intended) I think it should rather display a warning or censor the word. I know I am not the only one with this opinion because it is the first time, in all the games that I have played, getting an auto ban for using "profane" language. I've had warnings and censors, NEVER have I been banned for this... Well until this server.
Welcome to MapleRoyals, mate. Your warning was the Terms and Conditions that you should've read. We are not any other server. We operate on a very low-tolerance basis, with no tolerance at all for any form of racism, sexism, or discrimination. We do not give warnings in-game. If you attempt to break our rules, you get banned, and that is what you did. If you would like to make a ban appeal, feel free. I'm not sure how you are going to explain that what you smega'd wasn't a play on the racist word we all know, but I doubt you'll come up with anything we haven't heard ten times over already. Good luck.
Chill Michael. I'm not making a ban appeal here. I'm making a suggestion. The same way you guys accepted something such as pre-warnings on maple island to be 1x exp. The same way you should give people a chance. Everyone knows that terms and conditions are not always read. And I know you skipped many terms and conditions in your life. Maybe you shouldn't be so anal about it and give people second chances. I understand you guys have "low tolerance". But everyone deserves a heads up. Don't we all slip and make mistakes?
I'm replying after this thread was closed by a different moderator to address a specific point that I believe will benefit the general public; the difference between warning for Terms of Service infractions and what the OP stated as a parallel; in-game issues that may be different from other servers, such as 1x EXP on Maple Island changing to 4x EXP suddenly. The difference between these two scenarios is that in the case of different in-game features, we understand that players who have done absolutely nothing wrong will be forced into spending unnecessary time fixing their mistake if they are not notified beforehand. If you are breaking a rule, you are not the same as those players; you have done something wrong. The courtesy we extend to regular players to save them time is not a courtesy that people who break rules deserve. That is the stance that MapleRoyals Staff takes. You are correct, I have not read every ToS ever placed in front of me, I did not read every contract I've ever signed. When I got into trouble because I was unaware of the terms I agreed to, it was entirely my fault. And I had no choice but to take responsibility for it. This is the truth of the real world. We all do make mistakes. The first offense for use of inappopriate language is only three days; after that, you get a second chance. You are not instantly permabanned, you are not deleted from the server. You get another offense where you can slip again with only a seven day ban in response, and that's a third chance afterwards. That is more than tolerant for an issue that we take very seriously. I hope this clears up any misconceptions for any player about warnings in regards to bans. While I will not be re-opening this thread, feel free to PM me directly if you still have legitimate concerns.
