Hey guys I'm currently trying to main Bishop (or I/L idk yet) would it be better to keep it low level to sell leech until I can afford to HP/MP it wash or should I just keep leveling? Like are there any other alternatives to selling leech for funding?
Play whatever the fuck you want. You don't "need" to hp-wash, you don't "need" to sell leech either. Bishop more useful than an Archmage Lower level means sharing slightly more exp. Can be quite expensive to gear a Bishop for its low level to be meaningful. If you enjoy optimizing such characters, by all means go ahead
HP washing a mage (more specifically a bishop, since HP washing the other mage types is quite pointless) is not necessary at all, and it's only for those who want to reach endgame content such as Von Leon, AUF Haven and eventually pink bean. There are multiple guides on how make mesos, leeching or not. Selling leech is not mandatory or the only way to gain substantial amount of meso. Yes, it's a good income, but you can do other things. Honestly? Just play whatever's fun for you, you don't have to follow a specific path.
If you want to sell leech you probably gonna need to stay at a lower level. Most people won't buy leech from a really high level seller because the exp is not as good. As for hp washing, and maining mage in general, I'm not saying its not ok to main mage but its a pretty unique choice that you probably gonna want to understand before deciding to do it. Mages dont boss, I/L you wouldn't really be able to do anything other than solo blizzard shit and kill them. You dont need hp wash for that. Bishop can boss a little bit, it is mainly mule (with the exception of von leon). To VL on bishop you gonna need to wash to 8k which cost a few bills. Basicly I just want to make sure you understand what maining a mage is, its mainly a pointless chase for better gear that pretty much does nothing and not being able to do much content with other people. Some people like it, I just wanted to make sure you know what it is
This can not be emphasized enough. As a bishop main I would strongly caution against maining bishop long-term and instead use it for money/HS+ress mule later on. While @TakeItEasy is right in that bishops can join VL, it's important to remember that their role there is pretty much just to cast ress, hsh, and occasionally heal. Your tma (and therefore gear) will not matter in any significant way. @Kheb might say that with the right friends you can join any boss you want on bish or I/L main, and while that's technically true, they'll almost certainly just be carrying you, and this is a statement you can also make about perma beginner, so it's not really an indication that the class is actually okay and people just meta chase too much, and more an indication that good friends are nice and you should have them in general. TLR if you main a mage you will not contribute to any boss in a significant way, except bishop in VL where you can do stuff but your gear/tma still doesn't matter.
Thank you so much for the advice guys. I already kinda figured the classes are useless for bosses but unfortunately the other classes arent really as fun or for me Haha (Kinda depressing but it is what it is ) But from what im getting here should I just ignore HP washing and maybe do MP washing to save Potion money? Also what about stuff like LHC and Rose Garden? Is LHC just not doable on bish?
MP washing would save you potion money but would cost you more in APR than you ever gonna spend on the potions (pretty sure at least, I didn't do the calculation). if you really wanna save mp money, make hb mule. Rose garden mages are pretty solid, its solo content. LHC is only for bishop / F/P because of the mobs parties are killing
Gotcha. One last question though what level does Bishop typically start LHC? Is it just like the other classes or do I need to be a bit higher level?
Keep in mind after lv200 there's virtually no reason to LHC again. RG is better totems/hr, selling leech (even at 200 charging a reduced price of 55/110 skele) is better meso/hr, and exp doesn't matter. If you decide to go with bishop, I'd recommend some washing, probably starting at lv 150ish so that you can VL, if you want to run it. It's one of the most fun bosses in the game imo, and bishops are in demand for it. I recommend 8.5k HP, although you can technically get away with 3.5k if you really know what you're doing
