I played and loved MS for years up until Jump patch. Like most of you guys I was miffed about all the changes, but easily the biggest upgrade I was annoyed with was how easy it was to level up. Leveling up that quickly and easily took the fun and the accomplishment out of playing the game. I was excited about Maple Royals for being the nostalgic maplestory feeling, but I wanted to ask you guys how you feel about the 4x EXP. Does having 4x EXP Rate make the leveling too easy in this? I'm sort of surprised that there's even a change to the EXP/Meso/Drop rate at all, if Maple Royals is going for nostalgia shouldn't everything be the same as it was before Jump? I don't mean any offense, I'm just curious as to why the decision was made to alter these rates at all, and how they effect the way Royals feels (nostalgia wise) in comparison to the original pre Jump.
I personally feel like its the perfect balance. Leveling is enjoyable, if not a slight struggle sometimes. Back then getting .02% per kill was "good exp" no matter your level. In here it's a bit easier, but not to where it's so fast it's like Gms.
Not everything was perfect before GMS. The general consensus is that 4x is fine, but there are some that prefer lower and some prefer higher. I'd like to think we see old GMS as a model that we can improve on in this server. At the higher levels where I feel the game really begins, it's not uncommon for people to gain a level every 10+ hours. That feels a lot like old GMS to me.
