Work in progress! Please comment with any suggestions you'd like to add! I frequently take breaks from this game because being an adult sucks - I give permission to any member of the staff to update this however they please.

    Quests Worth Doing

Even with the experience multiplier on our server, there are still some extremely lucrative quests that stand above the rest. This guide seeks to list all of the quests that are (a) easy to do, (b) worth a significant amount of experience, (c) relatively fast, (d) don't require an abnormal amount of travel to complete and (e) possible with an unfunded/unleeched character. While some players prefer to use PQs or just grind at early levels, this guide will be particularly useful for players who are HP/MP washing their characters with a high base INT since they're generally really weak at these stages.

    A few disclaimers:

    1. A quest not being on this list doesn't mean that it couldn't be fun or personally rewarding, just that it's not as easy or as lucrative as others. The game gets stale if all you do is grind, anyway, so open up your quest log by pressing 'Q' in the game and see what else is out there to keep you busy!
    2. Since Royals uses an exp multiplier that could change in the future (currently x3.2 exp but that could change), I'm going to use the base exp listed for each quest on Hidden Street. You'll currently receive 3.2x the exp each one of these quests lists.
    3. Some of the listed quests will have pre-quests that aren't on this guide but, in general, the worthwhile quests are in the 'newer' lands that weren't originally released in the early versions of gMS, so you'll likely be doing most of the pre-requisites if you're following this guide anyway.
    4. This guide isn't meant for bossing pre-quests unless they happen to give excellent experience and it probably will be more valuable to low-levelled players than experienced ones because experienced players are in a better position to grind for themselves.
    5. Quests have a tendency to glitch out for no real reason - if you notice any of these quests aren't working, please submit a support ticket by posting in this thread.
    6. Almost all of the quests that can be done in Mu Lung, Ariant and Magatia are worth it so try to do them all - I'll include the amazing ones in this guide but, in the interest of a succinct guide, not all of them. Do them anyway.
    Levels 1-10

At this point, do as many quests on Maple Island as you need to level up to 8 (magicians) or 10 (all others). I don't personally do a bunch of quests here because Maple Island is set to 1x exp and it's just easier to kill snails on Victoria Island for 3.2x exp.

Don't freak out if you accidentally hit level 11 or 12 without realizing it. When you make your first job advancement, you'll get all of the extra SP that you would have lost in the original gMS.

    Levels 11-20

Alright, here's where quests start to make some sense. Are these levels easily grinded out? Absolutely, but they can go even faster if you choose to utilize some of these.

    • Orbis Exchange Quest
      • This is a repeatable quest that rewards exp and random items when the user gives 100 monster drops to Staff Sergeant Charlie in Orbis. Click the link to see which items are accepted and what prizes you may get. On our server, Zombie's Tooth is by far the most popular exchange item in the Free Market because it's a viable training spot for players in the 5Xs and the teeth sell easily for people who want to do this quest.
      • Level requirement: This exchange quest is best utilized from levels 11-20 but can be used by anyone at any level.
      • Exp reward: Each stack of 100 items yields 500 exp
    • Nautilus' Special Entree 1 & 2
      • Level requirement: 15
      • Quest objective: Kill 30 Pig & 30 Ribbon Pig and, after talking to Tangyoon again, click "Send me to the stable" and click the cow with lipstick three times.
      • Exp reward: 1,300 & 3,600 exp
    • Help Me Find My Glasses
      • Level requirement: 15
      • Quest objective: Go to the right side of the outdoor Nautilus map & click the bushes until you find Abel's Glasses.
      • Exp reward: 1,700 exp
    • Welcome to New Leaf City Quiz
      • Level requirement: 15
      • Quest objective: Answer questions.
      • Exp reward: 13 questions yielding 333 exp per answer = 4,329 exp
    • Planting Trees
      • Level requirement: 20
      • Quest objective: Turn in 54 Seedling from Ghost Stump (collect them in advance and just talk to Winston twice).
      • Exp reward: 5,000 exp
    Levels 21-30

Starting at level 21, you can go the Kerning PQ and that's even easier if you can dual-screen and rush it using your main to do all of the attacking. If you don't like the PQ, use these quests instead! Also, there are a lot of worthwhile quests in Ariant & Magatia starting around level 24. Instead of listing them all, just head to Ariant to do everything you can. Be warned, however, some of these quests are glitched - specifically the ones that require you to collect/refine Lidium. If it asks you to do that, just accept that it's probably glitched. The Ariant quests won't show up until you've completed Learning About the Culture of Ariant, an easy quest that could be completed as early as level 10.

    • A Way to Fight Off Sleep
      • Level requirement: 23
      • Quest objective: Turn in 1 Red, Orange, White and Blue Potion (collect these before talking to NPC and just talk twice).
      • Exp reward: 1,700 exp
    • Shawn the Excavator's Request
      • Level requirement: 25
      • Quest objective: Turn in 5 Wooden Boards and 5 Slates to Winston (collect these in advance and just talk to him twice).
      • Exp reward: 3,500 exp
    • Request of Mrs. Reade 2 & 3
      • Note: the 1st part of this quest is for level 15 and kinda sucks, but it's worth doing for both of these by level 25
      • Level requirement: 25 (pre-requisite is 15)
      • Quest objective: Turn in 50 Rat Trap from Retz (collect these in advance and just talk to her twice) and then give 1 Pure Water to Jack (who is standing right next to her).
      • Exp reward: 7,000 & 7,000 exp
    • Lazy Little Calico
      • Level requirement: 25
      • Quest objective: Talk to Calico with 10 Evil Eye Tails in your inventory (save time and collect them in advance - better yet, just collect 50 before starting this quest or Strange Dish 1, which is right beneath this one!).
      • Exp reward: 5,000 exp
    • Strange Dish 1
      • Level requirement: 25
      • Quest objective: Turn in 40 Evil Eye's Tails (yellow/gold) to Tangymoon in Nautilus: Cafeteria.
      • Exp reward: 8,000 exp
    • A Request from a Member of the Sand Bandits!
      • Level requirement: 27
      • Quest objective: Turn in 30 Cactus Stem and 50 Cactus Thorn (collect these in advance and just talk to him twice) and then click the drawer in the right side of the King's Room to get the Queen's Ring.
      • Exp reward: 3,750, 5,250 & 6,300 exp
    • Delivering Food to Spiruna
      • Level requirement: 30
      • Quest objective: Buy 20 each of Apple, Egg & Orange & deliver them to ???? in Orbis: Cloud Park IV.
      • Exp reward: 7,500 exp
    • Information for Dr. Kim
      • Note: Only do this quest if you've obtained the Warp Cards from Bartol - otherwise it's a loooooong walk. Once you have the Warp Cards after completing Bartol's Request, simply go into the left-most door on the top level of the Nautilus and go through the portal to Omega Sector - Dr. Kim is right there.
      • Level requirement: 30
      • Quest objective: Talk to Rolonay and then talk to Dr. Kim in Omega Sector
      • Exp reward: 10,000 exp
    • For Kyrin
      • Level requirement: 30
      • Quest objective: Talk to Black Bark in Nautilus Conference Room and then give Mrs. Ming Ming 40 Tablecloths from Jr. Wraith - return the dress she gives you to Black Bark.
      • Exp reward: 12,000 & 7,000 exp
    • A Hole in the Nautilus
      • Level requirement: 30
      • Quest objective: Turn in 50 Solid Horn from Jr. Cellion/Gruper/Lioner to Bonnie in the bottom floor of The Nautilus (get the horns before talking to her and just click her twice).
      • Exp reward: 14,000 exp
    Levels 31-40

You'll want to make sure you do your 2nd job advancement at level 30 with you instructor but, once that's done, swing away! Korean Folk Town starts to have some excellent quests but, as with the Ariant quests above, several are glitched. Specifically, at least the "drop a seed on top the of this roof" types don't work - be cautious! Also, most of these quests end with a book as part of the prize - these books can be turned in with Wiz the Librarian for an extra 8,000 exp per book!

A lot of the Magatia quests in this guide require you to join both the Zenmuist and Alcadno societies. I think you could only join one or the other in gMS but you can join both in Royals. Do these asap so that you can continue to do their questlines throughout this guide. Note: the first real Zenmuist quest - Russellon's Items for Experiment - is currently glitched and that means you can't do most of this questline until it's fixed. Once it is, it's worthwhile from 3x-5x.

    • Master Sergeant Fox's Secret
      • Level requirement: 33
      • Quest objective: Turn in 40 Jr. Pepe's Fish and 10 each of Apple, Egg & Red Bean Soup (bought in Item Shop of El Nath).
      • Exp reward: 14,500 exp
    • Today's Schedule
      • Level requirement: 35
      • Quest objective: Give 100 Cogs from Chronos to Betty in Ellinia (just buy 100 before you talk to her and then talk to her twice - don't make a trip to Ludi in between when you can do the work in advance!).
      • Exp reward: 5,000 exp
    • The Lantern at Mushroom Shrine
      • Level requirement: 35
      • Quest objective: Kill 100 Paper Lantern Ghosts and turn in 50 Warn Paper Lanterns.
      • Exp reward: 10,500 exp
    • Helping Out Bedin
      • Level requirement: 35
      • Quest objective: Turn in 50 Flaming Desert and 5 Silver Ore.
      • Exp reward: 10,900 exp
    • Strange Dish 2
      • Level requirement: 35
      • Quest objective: Turn in 50 Curse Eye's Tails (green) to Tangymoon in Nautilus: Cafeteria.
      • Exp reward: 24,000 exp
    • Rightful Donation Culture
      • Level requirement: 36
      • Quest objective: Turn in 1 Sapphire (get this in advance and talk to him twice).
      • Exp reward: 5,000 exp
    • Brotherly Love
      • Level requirement: 37
      • Quest objective: Go back and forth between Rice Stacks and click them. Turn in the book they give you to Wiz the Librarian for an additional 8,000 exp.
      • Exp reward: 1,000, 1,000, 1,000, 1,000, 4,000 & 8,000 exp
    • The Lost Seed
      • Level requirement: 37
      • Quest objective: Turn in Swallow's Lost Seed (usually drops quickly but sometimes takes forever).
      • Exp reward: 10,000 exp
    • Kong Ji's Request
      • Note: this requires a few sucky prequests but is worth it - especially if you're still under level 40.
      • Level requirement: 37
      • Quest objective: Give her the pot from the prequest, smack the flowers on the map to the right of Folk Town until they drop 12 Artemisiae and then turn in a Steel Hoe from Blin (blue fireballs on the top of Black Mountain). Turn in the Storybook you get for a reward to Wiz for an extra 8,000 exp.
      • Exp reward: 15,000, 16,000, 17,000 & 8,000 exp
    • Strange Dish 3
      • Level requirement: 40
      • Quest objective: Turn in 50 Cold Eye's Tails (white) to Tangymoon in Nautilus: Cafeteria.
      • Exp reward: 36,000 exp
    Levels 41-50

You're getting close to the levels where you could buy leech if you wanted and these quests will see you through! There are also some Magatia quests in here that are bugged, notably the Humanoid A quests, that sometimes work and sometimes don't. If you happen to be in Magatia around level 45, try doing some of his quests and see if they work for you - they'd all make this list if it wasn't for the fact that they're buggy for some people. Most of the quests in Mu Lung are worth doing and they kick in around level 50.

This is, in my opinion, the worst 10 levels for quests before third job (and maybe even before fourth). Check your job guides for places to train and grind out the rest of the exp until you hit 50 and can start training at real spots like Zombies & GS2.

    • Queen's New Make-Up
      • Level requirement: 41
      • Quest objective: Turn in 20 Sand from Desert Giant (collect in advance and just talk to her twice).
      • Exp reward: 15,000 exp
    • Her Secret Craving for Seal Meat
      • Level requirement: 43
      • Quest objective: Turn in 15 Seal Meat from Freezer/Sparker (collect in advance and just talk to her twice).
      • Exp reward: 30,000 exp
    • Intruder - The Herb Farm
      • Level requirement: 50
      • Quest objective: Kill 100 Bellflower Root and then 100 each of Captain & Kru.
      • Exp reward: 18,300 & 33,500 exp
    • Do Gong's Searching for the Swallow
      • Note: this quest is only on here because it simply requires talking to two NPCs - start it and then finish it the next time you happen to be in Herb Town. Don't waste a full round-trip just for this quest.
      • Level requirement: 50
      • Quest objective: Talk to Do Gong and then talk to Swallow.
      • Exp reward: 5,000 exp
    • No Gong's Teaching 1-3
      • Level requirement: 50
      • Quest objective: Kill 10, 20 and 40 Straw Target Dummies and talk to No Gong in between each of those.
      • Exp reward: 15,500, 16,000 & 16,500 exp
    Levels 51-60

By this level, you should have some real attacking skills and you'll finally find some monsters worth grinding at. Still, these are some of the best quests for this level set. There are a bunch of great Mu Lung quests that, starting at level 55, can only be doing with the Pirate Party Quest. While this PQ does work in Royals, it's tough to do these alone so I'm leaving them off of this guide. If you're doing this with a friend, complete the party questlines and you'll get some great exp in your 5Xs. Also, around level 60 there are a lot of quests involving Shammos in the basement of the 3rd Job Instructor's house in El Nath. Some of them work and others don't, so I'm skipping them. If you want to try your luck, here's all of what Hidden Street has for him (though some of these, in addition to being glitched, are from a later version of Maple Story that we don't use here on Royals).

    • Getting in the Way of Alcadno
      • Note: this quest has a few prequests for Zenumist but they're already on this guide.
      • Level requirement: 52
      • Quest objective: Kill 200 Reinforced Mithril Mutae.
      • Exp reward: 37,600 exp
    • Parwen the Ghost
      • Level requirement: 52
      • Quest objective: Simply talk to Parwen.
      • Exp reward: 7,800 exp
    • Sejan's Good Habit
      • Level requirement: 53
      • Quest objective: Buy 10,000 Bronze Arrows for Bow & turn them in.
      • Exp reward: 15,800 exp
    • In Search of the Book of Ancient
      • Note: This quest is not easy and isn't for everyone. It takes hours to complete but yields over half a million exp with the Royals multiplier plus allows you to buy Magic Rocks and Summoning Rocks for 5,000 each. You can usually find these in the FM for 6k-7k per piece but, especially if you're a Night Lord and your main attack requires tons of Summoning Rocks, it's worth it to know this quest is done and that you can buy as many as you want at any time.
      • Despite what Hidden-Street says, you must also complete Alcaster and the Dark Crystal (level 60 quest) to be able to buy the rocks. This quest is easy and simply requires you to turn in a Dark Crystal and a Star Rock after you've completed the main quest.
      • Save yourself headaches by collecting all of these items in advance so that you can simply talk to each NPC while following the Hidden Street instructions in the link above:
        • 100 Star Pixie's Starpiece
        • 50 Lunar Pixie's Moonpiece
        • 50 Luster Pixie's Sunpiece
        • 80 Hector's Tail
        • 80 White Fang Tail
        • 2 Refined Power Crystals
        • 2 Refined Wisdom Crystals
        • 2 Refined DEX Crystals
        • 2 Refined LUK Crystals
        • 3 Werewolf's Toenails
        • 1 Dark Crystal & 1 Star Rock (for the level 60 quest following this one)
      • Level requirement: 55
      • Quest objective: A LOT of headaches.
      • Exp reward: 190,240 exp across 30 individual objectives plus the ability to buy Magic Rocks and Summoning Rocks whenever you want them.
    • The Legendary Being's Scroll
      • Note: I don't actually know if Royals has this NPC or not - I'll test later and remove this either way.
      • Level requirement: 55
      • Quest objective: Go back and forth between Herb Town & Mu Lung while following the instructions in the link to exchange a scroll between Do Gong and God of Mountains.
      • Exp reward: 10,000, 21,500 & 15,000 exp
    • Do Gong's Teaching
      • Level requirement: 55
      • Quest objective: Turn in 10 The Book Ghost's Sheet of Paper from The Book Ghost and then 5 Kitty Spirit from Sage Cat (plus kill 20 of them).
      • Exp reward: 22,000 & 30,000 exp
    • Keeny's Research on Roid
      • Level requirement: 55
      • Quest objective: Turn in 80 Wires from Roid (do in advance and just talk to her twice).
      • Exp reward: 43,000 exp
    • Tiger-Hunting
      • Level requirement: 55
      • Quest objective: Kill 10 Hogul & turn in 10 Tiger Skin.
      • Exp reward: 20,000 exp
    • Eliminate the Stone Golems (no HS entry)
      • Level requirement: 55ish (may be 56 or 57)
      • Quest objective: Talk to Muirhat (Top Floor of Nautilus - Hallway) and then kill 80 Stone Golems.
      • Exp reward: 90,000 exp
    • Gathering Up the Missing Ingredients
      • Note: This quest will trigger as completed once you pick up a single 100-Year-Old-Bellflower. Do NOT finish the quest until you have 100 of them or else you only get 10 exp for the quest.
      • Level requirement: 56
      • Quest objective: Turn in 100 100-Year-Old-Bellflower (collect in advance and talk to him twice).
      • Exp reward: 45,000 exp
    • The Secret of Ghostship
      • Level requirement: 58
      • Quest objective: Kill 100 Pac Pinky & Slimy, then 120 Slimy & 120 Selkie Jr and, finally (for now), 300 Mr. Anchor
      • Exp reward: 10,000, 15,000 & 30,000 exp
    • Protecting the Peach Farm
      • Level requirement: 60
      • Quest objective: Talk to NPC, kill 50 Peach Monkey & stay until you collect 100 Peach Seed ETC drops before talking to the NPC twice.

    • Keeny's Research on Neo Huroid
      • Level requirement: 60
      • Quest objective: Turn in 160 Plug from New Huroid (collect in advance & just click her twice).
      • Exp reward: 48,900 exp
    Levels 61-69

You've almost made it to third job! Keep grinding away and this process as quick as possible. If you're tired of training and quests, you could buy leech but it's generally frowned upon because the exp sucks until you get to Wolf Spiders at level 75. You'll notice there's only one quest in this bracket - that's because Nexon hates us and only has like 4 quests total from 61 to 69 (I didn't include 70 in this bracket because of a lot of those can't be started until you've made the third job advancement anyway). Consult your job-specific guides to find the best training spots.

    • Free Spirit
      • Level requirement: 62
      • Quest objective: Turn in 100 Free Spirit from Master Soul Teddy (collect in advance & just click him twice).
      • Exp reward: 35,000 exp
    Levels 70 and up!

Congratulations! You've made it to your third job! Starting at level 75, you can begin leeching at Wolf Spiders and other places in lieu of quests if you're not into/incapable of training for yourself. The quests below stuck out to me as good ones to include but, by this point, many have prequests tied to earlier quests that may or may not be in this guide. And, as always, there's the chance they'll be glitched so try them at your own risk and know that your mileage may vary. If anyone is able to confirm that these work, please reply to this post and I'll ensure I tag them as such! Magatia has a series of quests that offer great exp involving Parwen the Ghost, but I suspect they don't currently work because they're deeply rooted in prequests and, if memory serves, one of the first ones is broken it would make the entire questline broken. There's also an insanely lucrative questline apparently available through Shammos in El Nath but, from what I can tell, that was added in a later version of the game than we use and isn't available to us. Starting around level 95, there's a long series of Temple of Time quests that yield great exp but require killing 999 mobs a piece, so I'll leave those off. You'll eventually want to complete them to gain access to some of Royals' latest-game hunting grounds.

The best quests I did on my low level chars are these two:

Level 20: Shumi's Lost Coin. If you are ok at doing jump quests, this should take you 2-5 mins. It gives you ~130% exp at level 20, meaning that you will level up when you finish the quest.

Level 40: Fool's Gold. Go to FM or get your main to farm/get 60 lucky charms. This quest (both the non-repeatable and repeatable parts) gives you about 90%-100% exp in total at lvl 40. Don't forget to complete both quests!

EDIT: Just found another easy quest today (29/10).

Level 30: Delivering Food to Spiruna. Talk to the fairy in the Potion shop in Orbis. Then buy from the Potion NPC 20 of each: apples, eggs and oranges. Then go to Spiruna in that dark room in Orbis park. Easy. This quest gives you ~40% exp at lvl 30.

Strange Dish questline is really great:
-First one gives you 25600 exp which is around 85% at lv 25.
-Second one gives you 76800 exp which is around 60% at lv 35.
    -Third gives you 115200 exp - 50% at lv 40. :):)

I have completed this quest but I am not able to buy Magic Rocks and Summoning Rocks. Is it bugged? Or did I miss something?

Did you complete the full quest? The last thing you should have turned in were the three werewolf toenails. Alcaster in El Nath is the only NPC (that I know of) who sells the rocks so you'd need to go to him every time you're out and just buy like 1,000 at a time to stock up in between trips to Nath. It's not bugged to my knowledge.

I haven't personally done this quest in years so I may have forgotten something but I'll test on a mule as soon as I have time. You may also need to do this quest to prompt Alcaster to sell, but I'm not sure: http://bbb.hidden-street.net/quest/el-nath-mt-aquaroad/alcaster-and-the-dark-crystal. You need to be level 60 for this quest but I'm thinking it may be required on Royals - let me know if you make any progress and I'll update with your findings!

I would note "Defeat King Clang" as a great quest for level 55+. The process is just killing 50 lorangs, clangs, and torties before killing king clang himself, and gives 135k exp (base).

Just wanted to leave a little note that on MapleRoyals, the level requirement (at the moment) is only 10 for the "Welcome to New Leaf City Quiz" rather than level 15. Also, it only has 12 questions.

Thanks for putting this together! :)

There is the quest in kerning to get 100 Master Death Teddy (you'd get them anyway if you do the pap prequest) etc that gives 30% overall int. Also there are some quests that give fame like the king clang one or the one in WS where you can get fame for killing like 100 of them.

The 100 cogs quest isn't worth doing. It takes a long time to get 100 cogs and the exp is not good enough.

A Way to Fight Off Sleep also doesn't exist. I went to the NPC but it doesn't give the quest even though my mage was already lvl 25.

For a cleric getting 100 cogs is a piece of cake, therefore the quest is worthwhile for clerics. I've also done the quest with my assassin and it didnt take too long, was worth the exp on that character aswell

On another note, this thread is amazing, thank you for taking your time and making this guide. Especially nowdays when everyone leeches although it is so simple(and personally, super fun) to complete quests.
This guide might cause me to return to play the game :3

I included it because it's really easy for classes with mob skills and because you can simply turn in 100 cogs that you've bought or farmed with another character, too. As could be expected, some of these quests will be easier depending on your class.
