I need a little bit of help on my ranger build. I have already decided to not add points into thrust and was also wondering the importance of Inferno. It seems optimal to max strafe, arrow rain, puppet, mortal blow, & hawk and dump leftover points into which ever skill. However, I really am not entirely sure as I have never played a ranger before. Any help is appreciated ~f2

Hawk must be minimum 15 to unlock phoenix. You may want to place 21-30 points into it depending on how much you value its stun.

Inferno has very limited use aside from luring mobs, and in 4th job you will probably not be using it at all if you do skill it. The only advantages of it are its ability to lure without stunning and of course its strength against fire weak mobs. It has little or no application otherwise.

Thrust is relatively useful up to lvl 10 since it adds 2 speed per point, past that it is 1 speed per point. You can probably Max out the remaining speed with pet equips and speed pill. You must not neglect speed because we are the class with the worst mobility, hence maxing speed is essential.

Strafe usually, but it depends where you are training. If you think inferno/puppet/eagle will be more useful, you can add points to them first. Also, strafe and ar don't get much more effective after 21, so leaving them at that can net you 18 extra sp if you want to add a 3rd skill early (but max them later in 3rd job).
