G'day all, Currently I am a yr12 student going through my final exams. Some of my friends introduced me to Mapleroyals (I haven't played seriously yet, but intend to after my exams, as I was an avid mapler pre-bigbang), one of my friends is currently serving a 7 day ban which he received before he realised that a lot of us would play after exams. After inspecting the rules I neglected to notice any form of redemption and having friends that tend to get a little rowdy I fear that one of us will get a perma-ban for saying the wrong thing and ruin the groups moral and willingness to continue. Essentially my question is: Is there a redemption method that i missed?
Good question. I was actually super concerned about this, a lot, even when I started the game. So I contacted the local GM Jeen! (I think both times I talked to her, it was because she was immediately available. Once around when I started the game, and another time recently.) Anyway, there's no redemption method from what I've heard/seen. Like, even if you're on good behavior, your past strikes will never disappear. But you know how you can have up to three (or two) strikes before you're permabanned, right? The strikes are all separated into different categories. So you could, say, have two strikes in harassment, one strike in botting, uhh... one ban for glitch abuse (idk, like dropping a chair while you're already sitting on it or something). And as long as you have zero strikes in hacking or RWT or whatever, you can still have one more strike in botting, one more in harrassment, and one or two more in glitch abuse (I forget how many you need for permaban) before you're gone from the server forever. So there's no redemption method, but after the first ban, you'll probably be more careful about avoiding what got you banned in the first place. You'll usually get second chances for the ones that can occur accidentally. But for hacking/RWT, well.. you're asking for it, so yeah. I was worried too, about getting permabanned, but I guess I just err on the side of caution for everything because of the lack of redemption. As for others... well, good luck. If they already got banned for something, make sure they don't do that again. I can't imagine a permaban because I'd be really sad and it'd really suck.
If your friend ever gets banned for botting/showing robotic behavior (basically, if you are not paying attention and unable to respond to a gm, it is considered botting) they will be permabanned. Other than that, each section has it's own strikes like mentioned above. I suggest rereading the rules so that you guys can familiarize yourself with the rules.
