I think this needs definitely needs to be looked at again as a concept today in 2024, the XP for the 3rd/4th job skills can be looked at or nulled to prevent such leeches, but these PQ's can definately benefit, besides of course the obvious reason we are all here the Nostalgia of Maplestory being a big driving factor, i can only see a positive overall outcome with the strategy and implementing this back into the game. This was a previous thread discussed in 2022, and i think it would be a good to revisit the topic. https://royals.ms/forum/threads/remove-skill-restriction-from-pq.207410/
You say it will be a benefit, but bring nothing to support it. You talk about the nostalgia, but I don't remember 4th job skills in LPQ. When this was first implemented I was against it (new things are scawy), but now some time has passed, I actually like that we have to use our older skill set for a change. We get to use the skills we completely flew over due to leeching, extra nostalgia
Hi Straalmann, thanks for the reply i think the same points mentioned in 2022 still apply as to the potential benefits of bringing this in. I also outlined potential cons of bringing it back in also to have a balanced discussion, i'll relay them now here in this reply ammended for 2024. - Increase the activity of the lower level PQ's currently check out the activity of KPQ/LPQ/HPQ - on a day to day basis , it's not very high at all, at times the lower level players go off and train solo to mitigate this. - Benefits new players with friendly community experience encouraging longer commitment to play everyone on this server is usually quite friendly and great already, but i do remember my earlier days on maplestory or even on this server, when you're just starting out and have a higher level come through and offer you a helping hand or dazzle you with their skill set, leaving a lasting impression and desire to follow the same path. -Makes it alot more FUN as a 3rd or 4th job character I also don't recall 4th jobs skills in LPQ, mainly i recall them in KPQ, but this was a suggestion to revitalize the PQ's as a whole, whilst there is a leech community, and a desire of most players to create multiple accounts and progress quickly as posssible, i see this change as a way bringing these same players back to enjoy the fruits of their labour and inspire others. New things can definitely be scary, i see your point about re-activating older skills that were previously flown over due to leeching, which ties directly into my point regarding this potential "loss" i feel that is lost in the game with a large focus on leeching and hp washing getting to the "end". Whatever that is. Im open to it being trialed, or even the implementation of some newer PQ's i think it would be a great stepping stone into mapleroyals future.
I don't think remove the skill restriction is a good idea for promoting. In my opinion, pq is interesting in: 1)Cooperation 2)Challenging 3)Diversity 4)Unique Treasure if remove the skill restriction: 1)Cooperation: It will go down in all mob stage 2)Challenging: No change 3)Diversity: mage will give more efficiency to all low Lv pq, especially ppq leech 4)Unique Treasure: with the higher efficiency, Treasure won't be increase. In the pq design view: 1)KPQ / LPQ is designed for the newbies in old school MS, a skilled player won't go back with removing restriction. 2)base on 1), the newbies in this server decided pqs(KPQ/LPQ/OPQ/CPQ) player numbers. 3)all pq in old MS designed by 1st/2nd skill only ----->LPQ/OPQ: Teleport/Dark Sight ----->RJPQ: Teleport/Haste ----->GPQ: Teleport/Dark Sight My opinion to [what should be changed to pq] 1)more diversity to Treasure: Watching apq/cwkpq, then we can understand. 2)add new pq base on more 3rd/4th job skill: cr/transform/Meso Guard/Silence/Mortal Blow...... 3)rearrange old pq or add a challenge mode: just like EPQ/old-version EPQ I like old pq too.(KPQ/LPQ/OPQ) However, I enjoy the tens of them, and feel repeatable over 100 runs, and lazy to do after hundreds of runs. Therefore, I don't think remove the skill restriction can attract old players to these pqs.
