    Hey GMs,

Not sure if this is the correct forum for this issue, can reopen elsewhere if needed.

Tl;dr - I did not conduct real world trading even though it may appear that way. I would like to disclose what did happen, and ask for guidance as for what I should now.

I'm playing the game for 2-3 years now, and never made any trades which were over ~1 billion mesos IIRC. I also didn't have a forum account before today.

At some point along those years, at least half a year ago (can't remember the precise time), an in-game friend who decided to quit the game dropped his items for people to grab, and I caught (among other less valuable things) a 146/21 ST.
I saved it because I thought I might want to play a Paladin in the future, but as I'm quite enjoying my recent main (level 85 Bucc), I decided to sell it in order to buy some good Bucc gear.

Today, after using Smega to find buyers, I was whispered by a player (IGN "bookers"), who wanted to do the purchase, but was very suspicious of me. I didn't understand why and tried to ask him for clarification, but he left the game before answering.

After pulling the thread of him asking me about having a forum account and mentioning purchases of over "5 billion", I searched the forums and found the rules regarding real world trading, which I was previously unaware of.

I would very much like not to get banned, and I shouldn't be since I did not conduct real world trading, but I'm not sure how I can prove this. I'm willing to give in the item if that what it takes (but hopefully not ^_^').
I hope that coming forward as soon as I became aware of my "suspicious behavior" will help, and would cooperate in any way you find helpful.

Thanks for your consideration, and also thanks for the great nostalgic experience!

Do you have the IGN of the player who quit and dropped his items?
If you got that + estimate of when they did it a GM can probably look at the logs and confirm your situation.

I don’t have the IGN of the player that quit, nor do I remember the time it happened :'(
I didn’t think much of it at the time, as I didn’t even realize the item’s worth.

If there’s a way to check which characters had the item before, or even to check in when a specific character (my then main) obtained the item, then it will help prove my claim, but this sounds pretty far-fetched unfortunately..
