Just got leech scammed 300mil by a dude named lseazl (dont know if they are L's or I's) the guy took my money and never showed up for leech and even falsely gave another leecher's name as his own. Im sure thats just his smurf scam account, but damn people like that will ruin this game... what an absolute loser to scam on mapleroyals.
did you screenshot any transaction and/or conversation? it is easier to blacklist someone with that information. Otherwise your claim is pretty much hearsay and borderline slander to the person you are accusing. also 300m upfront for multiple hours to someone you had never met should raise red flags. Sucks you got scamazed D:
That sucks a lot, its always best if you are buying a lot to pay half first half after, as well as buy from a credible source. If you have any pictures of your conversation that would really help to benefit your cause.
I vouch for bro2, around the same hour that guy tried to scam me too, but failed. He wanted me to pay 4 hours of leech beforehand, but told me he didn't want the money on his main, and wanted to get paid on another character I found that shady as fudge but ok, when I tried to pay for the first hour he f*ked up. He told me my partner had already paid the 4 hours (He lied to get me to pay). About 1h later I spoke with someone else he tried to scam - apparently he was asking 140m for 5 hours solo (LMAO). Newbie low-level tryhard scammer, wants to steal and doesn't quite know how... If ya readin' this, ya ain't got game son! ahahahahaa
Yaaa it was my bad ultimately. I should have noticed the warning signs, but with hundreds of completed transactions and never one other problem in the past i got too relaxed. Also, yea this seems like a legit little community of mostly 20+ looking for that maple nostalgia... scams didnt even cross my mind hahaha. But ooh well ive already made my money back from merching and looking back i almost feel bad for someone who scams on mapleroyals haha thinking about their social and home life... yikes.
This seems to unfortunately happen sometimes. This is what I do to lower the risk of a scam happening: 1: Never pay for multiple hours, pay for one hour at a time 2: If I am selling leech, I will get paid before leeching, not after 3: If I am buying and I'm not familiar with the person selling it to me, I take a screenshot of the transaction (for evidence if the seller turns out to be a scammer)
I'm aware most of the people don't bother doing this because they are lazy but such scam is reportable as objectionable behavior if the buyer takes precaution. I don't know if staff will refund you the lost mesos. Some were refunded in the old source with enough evidence but rules may have changed. When you are buying leech, always type out in full, " I (buyer's IGN) is buying ~~ hours of leech at ~~ map during ~~ server time for ~~ mesos from ~~ (Seller's IGN). Do you agree?" before making the advance payment. If the seller agrees with that statement and accepts your money, he's now bound to the contract. If he scams and decides to disappear, you can report the person with the contract screenshot for objectionable behavior and get him temporarily banned, maybe a refund too.
Vouching again since its been a month since this post and he/she's still not banned. IGN is LseazI to clarify. I don't have a few screenshots, but not of me trading him the money so I doubt I could get him banned, but I do suggest to blacklist him and any alts he/she has.
Maybe it was his other account with an l instead of an I or something, because I definitely bought leech from someone named that this week.
