Search for the Elixir of Life Guide [Level 120+ hp quest]

If you are level 150 120+ and need more hp (and don't want to wash or can't wash any more of your mp into hp). Then this is the quest for you.

UPDATE 72: You can now do the quest as many times a day as you want until you hit 9.5k minimum potential HP at level 175 (which takes into account any HP you would gain from leveling up and how much MP you have left to wash).

Prequest: Reuel's Introduction
After you hit level 150, click the lightbulb above your head to accept the quest.

Search for the Elixir of Life
TLDR: Reuel came across an ancient recipe to create the Elixir of Life and needs help getting the ingredients. That's where you come in. Hunt for whatever he tells you and return to him for an increase to your max hp (so far people have reported +10 or +20 hp - random, it doesn't seem related to which items you hunt based on what people have been getting).

Things to note:

• This quest is repeatable (indefinitely, go nuts!) once a day.
• You can only accept the quest once per day (so if you choose to forfeit it early, you have to wait til reset to accept it again).
  • If you didn't complete it one day, you can still do it the next and accept the quest again. You can start the quest once per reset cycle
• The items you need to collect are randomized (10-15 6 variations that we know of)
• Mages are excluded from being able to do the quest.
• The quest drops will only drop from the mobs when the person killing the mobs has the quest accepted (and the has the same quest items to collect as you do).
  • This means you cannot have a mage hunt the etc for you (no selling hp quest items)
  • This means that you cannot hunt the quest items with your friends unless they are hunting the same set as you
• Don't hunt "extra" quest items for "next time". It seems the npc takes all of the etc in your inventory.
• You get +10 or +20 hp based on which quest set you get

• Thanks to @Nivi - the Aquarium set (Squid, Flyeye, Thanatos) and the World Tour set (Gold monk, fish golem thing, and himes) give +20 while the rest give +10

Personal Experience so far

• The first time I did the quest, it took me 30 minutes (on a level 200 shadower) and I got +10 hp.

  • I noticed I haven't gotten the same quest twice yet (coincidence or intentional?)
• Day 5: Took me 40 minutes and I got +10 again
  • Still haven't gotten the same item set twice yet, very suspicious
• Day 6: Took me 40 minutes and I got +20
  • Yet again still didn't get the same item set twice yet
• Day 7: Took me 30 minutes and I got +20
  • Unfortunately nothing special happened after doing all the items once (I think?)
  • Will keep doing this to see what happens
• Day 8: Took me 25 minutes and I got +10

From what I've seen, there are six possible sets of items to collect:

1. Green Mushroom: Proto Spores x30
   Blue Wyvern: Eternium Crystal x20
   Dark Cornian: Dark Cornian Tail x30
   
2. Glutton Ghoul: Leeching Slug x10
   Wolf Spider: Ancient Amber x10
   Baby typhon: Typhon Egg x10
   
3. Duku: Harvester Seed x20
   Petri: Razor Vine x30
   Slygie: Slygie Meat x50
   
4. Squid: Squid Tentacle x40
   Thanatos: Thanatos' Horn x1
   Flyeye: Flyeye x20
   
5. Giant Gold Monk: Gold Plated Pearl x30
   Dreamy Ghost: Rose of Death and Decay x10
   Temple Block Monster: Heart of Nature x5
   
6. Memory Monk: Tid Dandelion x15
   Birk: Divine Clover x25
   Homunculus: Mysterious Jar x20

 

Is this quest even worth doing? If you gain 15 hp avrege (even I think you got lower chances for 20 hp) you will gain 1k hp after 66 days.
How this quest help if it's not another way instead of hp washing?

 

Well I don't think if you messed up a char and haven't washed you can do this instead. You will gain per 100 days of doing this every day only 1.5 k hp +-.
So I think it's not replaceable for hp washing.. so it's looks like just a bit of waisting time

I like it. My Sair has ~9000 HP at level 166 cause I started washing too late. This helps me get the HP I need for Horntail

 

I got two 10HP potions on these 2 first days now. I love this HP quest. I think its simply brilliant.

 

Took over 50 minutes!

Harvester seed from Duku
Razor Vine from Petrifghter
Slygie meat from Slygie

Can farm both Duku and Slygie at the same time at Destroyed Park I.

+10 hp

 

i forgot take SS from first day quest but it was in ulu/petri/duku
2nd was in aqua
both days got +10 HP and took me like 1h each quest-day



the wash alternative is nice but quest asks for to much etc and time farm especially for jobs that don't favour mobing
i understand is made this way to keep "balance" with broken wash system to avoid evryone get 30k quick without wash

but i think geting quest reduced to 1 kind of etc a day is better also the 10hp/day is allready good limit (100days for 1k) while most unwashed aim for 11k-13k hp goal (like +3-4k to their allready maxed HP sources)

am down to do the quest for 300-400days for +3-4k maxHP if quest takes 5-15ish min ea ~

 

8k NX per day = >40m per day by standard rate if you sell NX and the 14 day fast travel ticket is <30m - by the time you're level 150, the cost of a fast travel ticket should be almost inconsequential unless you don't vote, want to do this quest on multiple characters, or you're playing ironman or something

 

Maybe consider collecting extra sets of a quest item for the next round to save yourself time and travel fees in the long run?



EDIT: turns out i'm actually 40 IQ

 

When you turn in all (including the extra) quest etc are removed from inventory .

 

Got +20hp with the squid/thanatos/flyeye set (~30mins) today! I forgot to ss, but the squid tentacles dropped from both kind of squids in aqua!



Also got +10 hp first day with the duku/petri/slygie set (~50mins) and +20hp 2nd day on the himes/giant golden monk/temple block monster set (~35mins)!
