Hey, I'm new, I used to play an oooooooold private server which is no longer here and I used to main a Bishop and a Bowmaster, I know you're supposed to have a Bishop first in order to fund yourself and have a way to HP Wash and Leech your new character efficiently, and I am making one. However, I am at a crossroads, deciding between a Shadower or a Buccaneer. What I like about Shadower is their assassinate ability, the fact that they're mostly intangible, and the fact that they're not that expensive to wash as they can use Meso Guard to tank hits. What I like about Buccaneer is their AoE attacks, their super transformation skill and the fact that they're sought after in a lot of bosses 'cause of S.I. I like both as they're not expensive to wash. But, Which one has better single target damage? I plan to train a lot alone. Which one needs less HP overall? Buccs have high HP naturally, while Shadowers have Meso Guard.} Which is better as a bossing class? Who is overall a better class in terms of damage? I'd appreciate any inputs. Thanks!

I think Buccaneer is overall cheaper and more starter friendly. Shadower gear is going to cost quite a bit more since it overlaps with NL gear, which is very expensive, keep in mind you want a high stat shield and dagger as opposed to just a high stat knuckle for a buccaneer. Both have unique training and bossing methods, buccaneers can solo BF very easy with demolition which makes a smooth 4th job leveling experience. Shadowers can meso bomb high level mobs from 3rd job making it quite easy as well. I would recommend starting out as a buccaneer and when you get to a point where you can make meso from bossing/farming/events/w.e I would make a shadower so you can enjoy both
I never played shad but have a lvl 200 bucc, the class is pretty fun. It has decent DPS and can solo shaolin at later level and is also wanted in parties (especially lhc where everyone needs si). Washing is pretty easy as well though it's harder than a warrior. Also about shadower they need both a dagger and a shield, so if you want to perfect them it will cost you like 20-30b more than other classes
