I've retired from my Mapling days since the Old DestinyMS. The current one just doesn't do it for me, for those of you who remember the golden age of V83 and before. I've been in retirement for going on 2 years now, since no old-school server had enough population or knowledgeable staff to make it thrive. This server however, seems to be doing well. It has consistency and growth, it seems. I just have a few questions before I decide if I will stay or not. Will there be a wipe in the future? From my experience as a player and as an administrator, I always found that wipes that occur once or twice a year, beginning at the new seasons always encourages new motivation and a steadily improving player-base. Ladder wipes are the reason Diablo 2 was so popular and continued to be even to this day. Some people dislike wipes but themselves and others continue to play, with more excitement and drive to do even better for the new wipe. Which guild will be the first to boss? Who will reach X first? All these things are incredibly reinvigorating and exciting, especially for a community that is close to one another. I noticed there are some WZ edits. What do these entail? Is it GMS-Like? I am very strict when it comes to WZ edits. They generally go against nostalgic game-play. However, seeing this is a V62 server, I would not at all mind WZ edits that go up to V83 for example. Updating NX is always a positive. Lets say BigFoot wasn't in V62, but there was a WZ edit to add it in. That is something I would like. Something I wouldn't like, is bringing in the Jester maps though, since those created stagnant and boring game-play. Does the staff of this server have any further plans or goals in terms of increasing the population? Steady growth is always key to keeping something exciting and refreshing. What are the plans for this server to be abundant with life? Is this server pay to win? What do donations entail? I am always extremely let down when I see that donations do more than provide NX to players. A Pay2Win system is something every cell in my body is against. It's one of the reasons why GMS fell. Besides, when a server is created in the minds if the people, such as those who want nostalgic game-play, they will support the server themselves, to keep it alive. No need for any Pay2Win mechanics in hopes of life. I have a lot experience administrating servers, in terms of beliefs, ideas and running servers in the direction that makes a classic server like this, thrive. I agreed with your post. However, during ladder resets in Diablo 2, even though all your characters are made non-ladder, you can still easily get items in the new ladder by having FG (forum gold) on the d2jsp forums, it's a currency which you can buy almost anything with (ladder items being more expensive than non-ladder of course). You could also just buy all the unids/uniqs/rws, basically EVERYTHING if you had the cash. Diablo 2 is kind of pay to win faster. So back to the subject, I'm not ready for a wipe yet since I'm still new to the server, but I would welcome one in the future. Hope someone with authority responds anytime soon, xoxo!
Hopefully their will not be a future server wipe in the near future we just had one about two months ago. As for the .wz editor of the server currently we are starting to release new NX items and chairs, but in the near future we plan on releasing new maps which I cannot say. As for the donations their is no reward for donating except for keeping the server up.
