Yep, clicking any of the bank NPC's also leads to disconnection. And since ~storage directs you to one, you disconnect.
Can you tell me what you are doing to cause it to D/C you? I just tested it and it works fine for me.
I type ~storage. Or I click on a bank NPC. Either option makes me D/C from any location I do these things. Are my .wz files perhaps outdated? It results with 'error code : 38 (Reached the end of the file.)'
For what it's worth, I tested this out with both the GM client and the regular client, and the NPCs and ~storage are working fine for me. If you dc trying to access storage, check you've got the latest game files, and if you're sure you have got the right files, let us know what map you're in when you dc. (Just in case this is a map-specific issue.)
I'm downloading the client from scratch right now. It says about 35-40 minutes until the download is complete. I'll be sure to test from there and check back promptly. I just found this pretty odd, considering it was working before the last server crash
Okay guys! So I downloaded the Maplestory Setup from the website, as well as the client. Got it all set up with a fresh install. 1st attempt: Logged onto my main 'Crono'. Still D/C'ed after using the ~storage command. I was at Sleepywood. 2nd attempt: Tried to use my storage keeper in Sleepywood. Still D/C'ed. 3rd attempt: Used a return scroll to Kerning City, used the ~storage command. D/C'ed yet again. 4th attempt: Tried to use the storage keeper in Kerning. D/C'ed. [Rules out my location causing this] 5th attempt: Logged onto my other character 'Accord'. He was in the Sleepywood Dungeon. Used the ~storage command. D/C'ed again. All of these attempts result in the same error as before... any idea what's going on? EDIT!! I am going to try again on my mule account. I just have to get him out of the beginner area. My goal here is to see if the issue is with my account itself. I sure hope not... Because 200m is a lot to lose... EDIT!! #2 6th attempt: Logged onto my mule account. My IGN on that account is 'Embezzle'. I used the ~storage command in the beginner area and instead of D/C'ing, I got that notice that says you can't use storage in this area.
TESTING COMPLETE! It seems as though this error is linked directly with my main account. On my second account, I am able to use the ~storage command just fine. Is this fixable? I really wouldn't like to lose all of the mesos I've earned :/
I know for a fact that the storage is full. But it's full of Tobi's, a couple sets of Kumbi's, and a set or two of Steely's. I really don't care about the throwing stars as they are easily replaceable. But it is FOR SURE full of them.
Ive also noticed an fm store (fm3 top left) dcing people trying to enter. No error code or anything. The client just closes. Could be related to this.
OK, I'm making a wild guess here, but I wonder if the contents of your storage accidentally got duplicated in the crash, thus filling the storage beyond its capacity and causing you to dc? (I think overfilled hired merchants can do this.) This is something that admin can hopefully check out.
I'm assuming with all of the crashes that have been happening, some code must have gotten mixed up or something. I'm pretty sure I had just deposited a couple mil from a sale, and right after that the server crashed. Then the rollback gave me those deposited funds back.
Katsuruka, that makes a whole lot of sense. ~I would just like to say, it's things like this that make me appreciate the jobs you guys have to do all the more. It also makes me appreciate this community even more as well.~
I've got the exact same problem. Re-downloading the files does not work and I've also tried accessing my storage from several maps and characters. Started happening after a server crash... My storage is also full of items, mostly stuff like wg's and such.
The issue is linked to your account. I got my storage to work on a completely separate account. Some errors with the rollback, I'm assuming. This thread has the GM's attention, be patient.
