I kinda just need to rant about this because I honestly don't know what to make of it XD

So like most other Royallers, I started playing Maplestory back in the oldschool days. You know, the oldschool days? MUH NOSTALGIA? ....Sorry, I got carried away.
And yeah, I've played it through the years. I've played a lot on both the official servers/GMS and private servers (But Royals is the best <3 Hands down)
Weird thing is though...I've encountered certain people throughout ALL the years I've played MS. Doesn't matter if I'm on GMS or some other server. I always run into these people.
I suppose the best way to describe them is : people who actually TRY to communicate with you(Unlike some of the solo players)....but cannot, for the life of them, communicate more than one word at a time. Like they can't form a cohesive sentence.

And I'm not talking about people who can't speak English very well. THAT is completely reasonable. At least here on Royals it is, since we have players from everywhere. But this happened to me even back in GMS, and I never really ran into foreigners on there.
It usually happens with random, lower-leveled people. Like I could be playing a lower-leveled character and running around Ant Tunnel or something, and then I run into another player.
And usually, when that happens I'm like "Hmm...wonder if they'd like to party up?"
But then before I can say anything, they just blurt out some one-word response with no context. And when I mean blurt out, I mean type it in all caps (Y'know, because most of the time on the internet, typing in caps is usually construed as yelling).
So I just see "PARTY" or "TEAM" or "INVITE". And I don't know why but it just baffles me. Like, even if it just had a SINGLE question mark or something after it, it would be more sensible to me. But no, its just one word, in all caps, with no context around it. It feels more like they're COMMANDING me to party up or invite them to the party that they presume I already have going. Not that I have a problem with partying up, its just that this way of speaking just kinda scares me. I mean, your first response when seeing someone else in the game is to YELL a command at them. Happens in PQs and in other "social" places in game too. As in, they just walk up to a random person and be all "INVITE".
I'm no grammar nazi or anything, but when someone just shouts one-word responses without any punctuation or other words to give it more context and make it easier to understand...it just doesn't sound right to me.

People who use shortened English or "leet" speak don't bother me as much. At least they can say more than one word. They're just lazy, which is reasonable enough I suppose XD
People who just have bad English don't bother me. This server specifically is for everyone so there's no reason to be mad at someone who's native tongue isn't English and just expect them to magically "get gud" at it. And at least they TRY to be cohesive.
But this specific way of communication doesn't really seem to involve trying to be cohesive. It's more like you're a robot with a pre-programmed response that automatically plays when you encounter another player.

This post might come off as offensive...
But I just kinda had to get it off my chest. It's mainly just that it scares the shit out of me because it always feels like these people are yelling and I have no idea what to think. Especially considering it's happened a few times on this server, and I wanna hope that maybe they're just foreigners with poor English. But considering that I've ALWAYS encountered them throughout the time I've played Maple, I feel like that's not the case.
Anyone else ever experience this? Kinda feel like an asshole for having to point it out but at the same time I have to wonder why I keep seeing these people.

Make friends with them, then ask complicated/detail question where an elaborated answer is required instead of one word answer, and see how they response

It's not foreigners fault, it's people who lack social skills. People who are so socially deprived that they play games like MapleStory alone. They are also the type of people who have great difficultly communicating with others, modern day GMS has this problem REALLY badly with it's infamous anti-social community.

I used to be incredibly shy back when MapleStory was in it's prime, but hell even I opened up to people, it's not hard to give a proper response.

That's...actually really sad O_O I feel bad for those kinds of people. At first I thought that maybe these one-word response people were just very young children who either didn't understand or didn't care how they sounded on the internet. But then I remembered that I started playing Maple when I was like 11 years old. I was also a shy kid back then, and even I didn't sound like that when trying to start a conversation. Interesting thought though.
