Finished the 30 dark marbles quest to job advance after a gruelling challenge using lucky seven on in-your-face cold eyes, but did not receive a Proof item from the job instructor, so I have nothing to give to the Dark Lord and can't job advance.
You don't actually receive an item at this time, so you should be able to talk to the Dark Lord after you've completed the marbles stage.
I talked to him but he said the same as when I started the quest, i.e. go talk to job instructor noob! [ok]
He asked me to talk to the job instructor (who I needed to enter a special map to gather 30 dark marbles for), and he now says "You are truly a hero!" https://royals.ms/forum/threads/thief-2nd-job-advancement-i-am-pissed.12037/ should be the same
Like I said, I don't think you actually receive an item at this time. The sequence should be: Collect 30 marbles > exit the map > talk to the npc again to confirm you've done your task > go back to the 1st job instructor.
I've spoken to both npc's at this time. One tells me to go to the other and the other says nothing. The only problem I can think of is that I talked to the Dark Lord back in town before confirming my heroics with the job instructor after being warped out since I thought I was done!
