Seems a little silly to be suggesting something when all efforts should be going to the new source...but here's some food for thought. The Account Buddy System was introduced into GMS not too long ago and I always thought it was a great idea. It allows you to add a friend's entire account of characters to your list while only using up one space. For example, if your friend logs out of their main character and logs back in on a mule (on the same account) you'll still be able to interact and chat with them even if you haven't specifically added that character. There's also an option to appear offline and if I remember correctly you don't have to add everyone on this "universal" buddylist. Personally, I don't think this interferes with the game play or nostalgia of the server, it would just make it easier to stay connected with friends. P.S I know nothing about programming and have no idea how hard this would be to implement if at all.
