1st suggestion: since some bosses give skill books (or NX in the past) most of the time somebody comes periodically and kills all of them in every channel (usually takes him a few minutes to finish) to collect those items. the problem is that if i have a quest related or just wanna give it a shot of my own it's pretty much impossible unless i sit there and wait the entire spawn time. now - suggesting to reduce spawn time won't work cause the same guys would just lurk there and do it again so what i suggest is to make a limit boss kills per spawn - for example if i killed Griffey and he has 4 hrs spawn time' i won't be able to enter his map again for that duration. that way everyone will get a fair chance at it. 2nd suggestion: making quest exp go back to 4x exp like it used to be, since it's unrelated to the changes in the exp table in the new source. tell me what you think guys.
Limiting how much one can boss would heavily affect people like me, who live off of bosses like anego, crow and bigfoots. And for your 2nd suggestion, i dont get what ypu mean "unrelated to the exp change". Its the exp needed to level up that got changed, so leaving it at 4 would make questing more rewarding than before.
just saying it is really unbalanced when one guy can just run 20 channels alone leaving nothing for the rest. i don't mind if the threshold would be higher than 1 kil per periodto something like 5 but when some1 just kills them all seems a bit unfair for those of us who can't stand to wait 4 hours (at least) just to have a chance at him. putting some limit would let others have a chance as well. and for the quest thing i didn't knew what has changed was the exp needed to lv i thought it was the exp given by monsters, i guess that kinda nulls my argument.
Or better yet, directly change the skill quest. For example, as part of Berserk quest for Dark Knights, they are required to kill Jr. Balrog to retrieve the key. From what I've heard (I don't have first hand experience since I don't have a DK yet lol), the drop rate isn't even 100%, so sometimes it takes more than just one Jr. Balrog for one player. So instead of going through this ordeal of searching for the jrog and hoping that the quest item drops, why not change the quest instead? For example, eliminate 500 wyverns or collect 30 quest items from Skelegons instead of hunting for the key. One of my buddy couldn't unlock his Berserk for close to a week because he couldn't even find a Jr. Balrog during his limited play time. It's rough for people who aren't able to camp hardcore style like some of us do. Really hope to see some changes on this issue because other classes can get their core skills rather easily, while other classes struggle more than their counterparts did.
I don't believe it's true that players are able to kill all bosses on all channels, but if that is actually happening, doesn't that simply mean that there's nobody else checking for the bosses as frequently as the person who has been killing them? All bosses have some randomisation in their respawn times, for example 6-8 hours and not a set 6 hours. Therefore the person who killed the boss previously doesn't know exactly when it is going to spawn again, they only have the advantage of knowing the approximate timescale, and this should give everyone else the opportunity to find the bosses. Additionally the bosses no longer spawn immediately upon a server restart and their spawn times carry over through any downtime, so nobody can hog all the bosses immediately after a restart anymore.
as far as i have seen here: https://royals.ms/forum/threads/all-bosses-in-mapleroyals.380/ the respawn time in most cases is said to be fixed time. has it changed in the new source?
The thread is from 2013 and was last updated in April 2014 so is likely very outdated. The thread was just based off player input and guesswork rather than the actual spawn times. If you read further down the thread I did end up finding the randomisation calculation used in the old source that applied to all of those bosses, and the thread was never updated to accurately reflect the proper times. I believe the new source uses a similar method of randomisation, or at least should be using some randomisation, since GMS had randomised spawns too.
i took that thread as official timing since it was written by you. anyway, if the respawn time is actually the way you said is i see it as a fitting solution.
