Hey, I've noticed that the current time stamps in the map owner command are useless when a screenshot is taken of the command. For example in this report abuse: http://royals.ms/forum/threads/lolgen-skele-ks.16749/ It appears that lolGEN was banned because he tried attacking on the map while the players supporting GetRekt attacked as well. If it wasn't for GetRekt's friends, you wouldn't be able to tell if a KS actually took place. (Correct me if I'm wrong but last interaction could've been the last time lolGEN was owner right? which would make it impossible to tell if any KS took place ? unless last interaction is only for interactions while someone has map owner) Suggestion: Perhaps it would be very useful for it to say: This map is owned by GetRektBish. The current time is %d %t And additionally, The first interaction by GetRektBish was at %d %t (So only the map owner's first interaction is displayed). (For performance concerns and updated tracking, first interaction cache should be cleared for the last map owner everytime there is a new map owner. Ex, getrektbish loses map owner, his first interaction is deleted until he interacts again.) This would be great information to judge screenshots by. Less guessing and more knowing. -Oldie
The ~mapowner command (in its current state) actually turned out to be useless imo. I have lost chans because I was in a chat and someone came in and hit a monster... I have lost chans because I was swapping int gear and someone came in and hit a monster... Even lost a chan while NPCing and door up. It doesn't matter anymore if you are in the channel when someone enters and tell them you are not afk, or even tell them what you are doing, if they hit some monsters you are screwed.
I was able to become owner of a map after being afk in the map and then attacking twice... i really like the map owner command but it needs tweaking.
We are aware that there are some issues and limitations with the ~mapowner command, but a) the person who created it left the staff a while back, so asking him to work on refinements to it really isn't a reasonable option. He would have preferred that the ~mapowner command wasn't made available to players, but that wouldn't have made any differences to the limitations of the !mapowner GM command. It's far from perfect, but it's still the best tool we have available if a GM isn't there at the time or the evidence in the abuse report is conflicting. Timestamps would be a nice addition, though, if feasible.
