If this is a ban resulting from logging in without the newest client, wouldn't a "please update" message be far more appropriate and productive?
I will also add for the record that I returned from a three-week holiday in Taipei to Toronto, spanning the 15th of Dec. last to the 12th of Jan. instant. My user name and password are not repeated on other services as far as I recall. And after trying the new client, my account is still unavailable.
