Aight peeps, I think I decided on becoming a Bowman/Crossbowman. However, I forgot that there is no auto-assign to Ability Points anymore! Since this is my first character, I'm completely unfunded and can't do fancy stuff like STR-less Bowman (which I read up on, and it's not that great anyway). Thus, how would I go about slapping points into my stats? I remember that every character has a main stat (in my case, DEX) and a secondary stat (in my case STR). I remember you dump MOST of your points into the main stat, but leave some for the second. I also remember something about "capping" the secondary stat at a certain level for the sake of dumping most of your points into the primary stat for tons of damage! There is no guides about his in the Help section, so I was hoping someone could teach me. Thanks peeps!
Well... you need str to equip bows/xbows. Generally bows require their level +5 str to wear, and crossbows just require their level in str to wear... ex. A level 30 bow requires 35 str to wear ex. A level 30 crossbow requires 30 str to wear So, you could generally just add 4 dex and 1 str every level until a certain point. Note that maple weapons (soul searcher, nishada, etc.) don't need str to wear. Obviously, at some point, your equips will start providing a substantial amount of STR and so you won't need to keep putting points in...you can cap whenever is right for you. You can always add more STR if you need more to wear your next item, and you can always take it out again with AP resets if you really need to.
+4 Dex +1 Str is boring. Try +5 Dex for 4 levels and +5 Str at the 5th level (level which you wear your new eqs)
Add all dex and use a lvl 10 bow till lvl 35 then use maple bows till 80+ then get about a 60 base str or so and by that time u will have lots of dough easy to make money
The only problem is that making a decent kandiva is hard as both kandivas and bow 30% scrolls are in short supply.
