    Heyo everyone!

I've recently started grinding it out on Himes solo with my little priest and I noticed that when you die on that map you firstly lose 10% experience, and when you click the pop-up that says you'll be teleported to the nearest town, you will be teleported to the next map over instead.
This will effectively most of the time result in another death, and another 10% exp loss, since you're spawning in with 50hp and 0mana on a map that's full of hostile creatures.

From what I've heard, this is the only map this happens on.

Personally I feel that if you've already lost 10% exp on the first death, that this should be enough.
Getting a double death lowers the morale and your will to play more.

So I suggest changing this map, so that you'll be teleported to town upon death, instead of the previous map.

What do you think about this?
Do you think it should stay the way it is saying that if you die, you deserve a double death?
Or do you feel that if you've died once, it should be enough?

TL/DR: Change so when you die on Himes you'll be teleported to town instead of previous map.

    Regards,

I had assumed this was a QOL modification similar to how the warp spot for ulu when logging in/cc-ing was changed.
Just curious are you able to pot quickly enough after respawning?

The first time it happened it took me by surprise, so I don't know if I could have managed to drink a pot.
But the second time I was ready "in case it happened again", but when the map loaded I was already dead.

I don’t like this suggestion at all because who likes walking? The reason you are losing 10% is because you are luckless mage. If you had luck your losses will be only 5%. Now when you respawn, I’m almost certain you do it on the air so it gives you a second to heal to avoid dying. The same thing happens at death mine Nath. If you die at Zakum, you respawn at the corridor with 50 hp where the flying eyes can 1hit ko you, again you have to heal fast, if you die there, then you are teleported to the forest of dead trees map where you are also gonna die of cold if you don’t heal/pot. So the encounter with Buddha is not the only place where this happens and the change you are suggesting is troublesome for others.

So you are saying that, everyone should make a NL with a bunch of Luk cus other jobs don't have luk added in their stats??
Just a few walking doesn't harm anyone! It is not like the jouney to zakum door, it is a lot shorter!

@87Karlos Going off of what @Nemo said, not everyone has crazy avoidability that NL's have. The suggestion made in this post isn't troublesome at all. Would you rather lose 20% of your exp overall or cut your losses and lose 10% and spend an extra 2-3 minutes walking back?

I imagine it only works like this because Black Crow spawns in that map. It's not a very long walk so +1 to getting it removed. The same thing happened in the Evil Dead before it was changed. You would respawn in a map with 10 elderwraiths and potentially bigfoot every time you clicked respawn.

But lukless mages aren't the only ones who don't add luk. Warriors don't put any points into luk as well so they don't have any avoidability either. The point is, NL's or just thieves in general, are the only class that DO have a substantial amount of luk in order to avoid hits. All other classes, majority of the time, will inevitably be hit immediately after respawning and thus die again.

The point of talking about luk is only to explain why the % loss is so high in mages. I don’t see why you would mix other classes here. You have to pot if you don’t wanna die, I already said it. Please refer to my first post for that

Well then the % loss will also be high for other classes that don't have additional luk as well, not just mages. As for potting, you'd have to be super quick in order to pot in time before you die. Not everyone has reflexes like that and other people probably are expecting to be teleported back to town so they aren't anticipating to be hit by another mob. If you also read what @Tjockas wrote above, he literally died before his map was finished loading. So the answer to this problem isn't "pot quicker" because if people can then they wouldn't even be dying and this issue wouldn't even be addressed right now.

If the map doesnt load then thats a lag problem on the OP/server side and its not something that is going to happen 100% of the times. As for "pot quicker" I can't really answer for others, you dont have to be quick, you just keep they key pressed. Other classes have their % loss set at 5% so that wont happen to other non mage classes

Showing that it's possible to not die after resurrecting twice doesn't really proof anything. I think you should be spawned at a 'safespot', or at least somewhere where monsters don't hit you for more than 50 damage.

If you're so good at potting you won't die at himes anyway, so it should 't affect you anyway.

Just change it that after you die, you revive with full hp and mana.

Even knowing about this ived died to it. I dont buy safety charms either r i p. Part of me hates the possible boss spawn/no safe spot/ shit respawn. But part of me loves it. Keeps you on your toes. Like bossing without hp washing

Your arguments are ignorant af. Why are you so against this? There are plenty of people who lag and end up dying as their screen refreshes to the new map, giving no time to pot. You can also literally spawn on top of the goblin causing an instant death. Sure not all the time, but this breaks the overall consistency of spawning in a safe town when you die at 99.9% of other maps. "You lose 10% twice cuz you're lukless" has absolutely nothing to do with the issue. The issue is you shouldn't die twice for no reason at this particular spot.

Why do you keep bringing up the % losses lmao. Losing twice the normal % loss regardless of whether its 10% or 5% is annoying, especially when its a one map issue.

Why not just make a safe platform which can be spawned on upon death?
