This is a PSA for everyone in MapleRoyals who buys or sells in FM. If you ask me to "Offer First", and you don't like my offer, TELL ME HOW MUCH YOU WANT. Don't just say "nty" and close the trade. That goes double for people who REFUSE to offer first. You want my money. I want your item. I don't mind if you're not willing to haggle, but at least give me the price you want me to pay. IE: Sellers that refuse to give a going price for an item should not advertise that they are selling an item. Buyers that refuse to give the bottom line price that they are willing to pay should not advertise that they are buying an item. /endrant
The reason people ask (atleast me) for you offer is to see if the person buying is willing to give more than the seller thought he could get for it. Example: If i have an item in mind to sell for 10 mill i say you offer and you say 20 mill.... I increase my earnings, the earning I could have lost for not knowing how much you would offer. I agree the NTY afterwards is wrong, people should at least give you an amount afterwards. Just my thoughts on this.
I agree that it is totally ok to ask for the other person to offer first. What is NOT okay is the NTY -> exit trade without giving counter offer. Also not okay is if I ask you to offer first and you immediately just leave the trade. Especially since some of these people are the ones spamming the shit out of the FM at 5posts/second. You are just prolonging your spammage and wasting everyone's time.
Also if someone does offer you and you think it's to low, don't just say "nty" and stop responding. Offer something higher, same logic here. I really hate it when I offer and someone says "nty" and never responds to your whispers again. I want the damn item! Give me a higher price! I offer to haggle...
I agree honestly, ooooooh here's one, I annoyed and kept whispering a guy and he finally responded after 10 minutes saying I was pissing him off and he had no interest in selling the item anymore after I had offered him the first time. So he could've saved me a lot of time if he just nicely said. "Nvm I don't want to sell it anymore." I would've understood.
I wanted to start this exact rant. Fucking people need to get some common sense into their brain when they step into the Free Market. Assholes. I also had an asshole last night who wanted to buy some stuff off of me. The price was 22,3xx,xxx mesos. I told him, as it was the set price for X k/each and it was a bundle. The guy puts up 20mil and trades. I cancel, trade him again, and he declines. Won't respond to whispers. GG. By the way, IF you are THAT person I just portrayed... take a good long look at yourself. You're a douche.
LOLOL at this guy HE says this, this is the exact reason i apperently got banned, He wanted my 47 attk skanda he said offer, i said 100m (i know its not worth 100, i was seeing if hes willing to buy it) he immediately blows up calls me a noob and said im a scrub if i bought it for more than 60. Please if your going to state something dont be a hypocrite.
I've done this in any game where I was expecting someone to be selling something really cheap or buying high. For example, I see someone advertise "Selling Blah Blah CHEAP!" (something normally worth, let's say, 100m). I ask them how much they're selling it for? They say 110m. "nty" Because I don't want their item. I want a profit. And they advertised saying "CHEAP" or whatever which made it look like they were willing to sell under market. When people abuse the word "CHEAP" like that, it's really their own fault.
What's really annoying is when you find someone completely oblivious to what the current prices are and charges way more than something is worth. Then they refuse to believe that they are wrong, or to check out any other shops or something. Ugh, people!
I do this regularly. If someone is selling something, they should have a price in mind. If I'm buying something, I'll have a price in mind. I've played this game for 8 years and it's an enormous pet peeve of mine to see the same 2 lines in every single trade window: Me : "How much?" Guy : "offer" Don't take it personally, this scenario just gets old after a while.
I do agree with this sentiment. If you advertise you are buying/selling you should really have a price in mind, UNLESS you tell other people you want them to offer first in your advertisement. Feels like a waste of time for the other party tbh
what grinds my gears the most is when they tell you to offer and you give them an offer; in which they then proceed to just type in chat "HAHAHAHAHA LOL" or "LOL OVERPRICED GL SELLING". -.-
That's not really my issue with selling. Sure, I do that, but right after I say offer I tell the person I can offer if they don't want to. Then they close the window a few seconds later. Sorta annoying.
