Closed the welcoming ritual bug

    at this point of the quest, i should have the banana leaf too, yet i dont. i could have dropped it months ago, forgetting whatit was for, but point is - i have no way to get a new one. i tried forfieting the quest, and it just putss me back at the ccurrent sstate, which is uncontinuable due to me not having the banana leaf. is there any way to fix it? char name is BloodyNL

    oh god please tell me my char isnt f-ed now
    also

    banana leaf, idk when i dropped it, i only realized i messsed up on may 13th ~5 pm (israel tim, i suck at time convertions, sorry)

    would appreciate help, i just wanna finish the quest :admincry:

    edit: i would love to know if its even fixable, becaues if not, i would like to start preparing my next char, as sad as it makes me, having uncompleteable quests would annoy me much more than losing a couple bil in apr and 2 months in leeching, training and questing :/

    Have shifted this thread from Report Bug to Character Issues as this isn't a bug if item was dropped

    Have forwarded your request to the Admins

    Well, given that other quests from the original game have replacement quests to counteract this situation, I'd like to think of this more as a bug and less refunding an individual an item.

    In my opinion, the true solution here would be adding a replacement quest (doesn't have to count towards quest medal if that's a worry) for this item and other potential soft lock items.

    You can submit at https://royals.ms/forum/forums/feedback.3/ if you believe all quests should have some sort of replacement quest for lost quest items

    Although I think it's a good thing to have, I not sure if Devs have enough time to code all of the quests this way

    I think it's good enough practice to just address these situations as they come up rather than trying to find and address every possible quest at once. I can't imagine there are too many quests with this potential situation or people really running into this problem. A feedback thread, in my opinion, is unnecessary.

    My confusion here is that this is not a character issue, it is a game issue (not necessarily a bug, but might as well be).

    This isn't a game issue as not all quests are designed with replacement quest

    It is a character issue if the player has lost it due to accidentally dropping (it doesn't affect every player)
    It would be a bug if everyone loses it, it isn't a bug if it isn't possible to proceed without the quest item as that would be working as intended

    Would also appreciate it if you don't bump this thread in order to forward your feedback as I monitor Character Issues daily to ensure the reported problems are being forwarded to the Admins

    Please do submit your concerns via Feedback if you believe there can be improvements made to the handling of Character Issues/Report Bug or how Quests work generally

    At this point it's just arguing semantics. It is a game design flaw that one can accidentally toss an item and be completely locked out of a quest line as a result. It isn't (or shouldn't) be thought of as "working as intended", as there is already precedent in the game (other item replacement quests) that clearly illustrate patching this hole. Of course not being able to hand in the quest without the item itself is "working as intended", that specifically is not the issue here. What is not "working as intended" is being locked out of the questline entirely, i.e. not being able to regain a necessary item.

    A flaw in this scenario is not remotely close to a "character issue", but is a "bug". Further, there are bugs which do not affect every player that are a result of the affected player's actions (often times unknown to them, in this case known), so I'm truly failing to understand your logic here.

    Seeing as no new threads have been posted between your response and mine, I saw it fit to respond here. Also, isn't this exactly what tags prefixes are used for? At any rate, I apologize for messing up your work flow, this is my last response.

    I sincerely believe a feedback thread on this is unnecessary and extreme. If you'd like to discuss further, I'm happy to talk in PM. My main objective here was to ensure that this specifically was treated as a bug and thus fixed by adding a replacement quest, and not treated as something it isn't; refunding items to a character as a character issue.

    Unfortunately it now seems that a mountain was made out of a molehill here.

    *Edit: I am at a loss for words at this point given your reply below. The limitations of your duties are obvious, I was simply asking for a reclassification, as the current classification was (in my view) just plain false. As long as a proper solution is implemented I'm satisfied. My feedback here has nothing to do with changing the game, and creating one just for this is over the top.

    It is still working as intended as per Nexon's design

    You are right to argue it's a game design flaw, but it's not possible for us to go back in time to revert what Nexon did, the best the Devs can do is to adjust the quest or add replacement quest to gain back the lost quest items, and using this thread as a Feedback isn't the right way to forward your concerns

    Please note that I have to shift the thread to Character Issues as I am unable to confirm whether it's a Bug as a Forum Mod, if I classify this issue as a Bug, I am unable to take any actions and only Devs are able to

    Although there are no new threads being made during this period, I keep notifications on for all replies made on the threads I followed, so that I may forward any new updates to the Admins accordingly, example bloodsicle updating me that he lost another quest item of the reported quest

    I believe you are reading wrongly about why a Feedback thread is suggested

    I am unable to handle Bug reports as a Staff, I at most can only offer advice as a player if I experienced the bugs myself
    Hence my minimum involvement in the Report Bugs section

    If you believe this should be a Bug, you may report it at the Report Bugs section and request for a Dev to fix it
    But as of now, this issue is still isn't a bug to me
    (if the item disappeared by itself, then yes it's a bug)

    I also seek your kind understanding that a Feedback thread would be more appropriate since all Staff are able to access it, it won't be right for me to address your concerns privately in a DM

    As a Forum Mod, I am also unable to guarantee any fixes or changes will be made based on the suggestion
    Please do forward your concerns at Feedback section as I cannot accept game changing Feedback privately as a Staff

    Character issues are only processed during patch if the Admins have spare time
    This include name changes as well

    Your issue isn't being missed out, just pending for a server check
