The notification for being afflicted with Crazy Skull was a step in the right direction that was accompanied with two steps in the wrong direction, because it also implemented a notification for slow (which is frequently spammed and is also extremely obvious even without a message) and dispel (which consistently gives false alarms, which is probably a bug, and if not a bug, then utterly useless). Now your chatbox gets flooded with these useless notifications, making it harder to tell when you got afflicted with something actually relevant. Here are some potential ways to solve the problem, sorted in order of most to least idealistic/desirable.

    1. allow players to customize which debuff messages they actually see, just like how they can toggle gach messages off. something like /toggleslow and /togglestun.

    2. change the colors of the debuff messages so the actually important ones (the ones that actually need to react to) are a different color. important = darkness, seal, zombify, crazy skull, seduce.

    3. put the crazy skull icon on a different visual layer than weak/slow/poison and the other shit so it doesn't cycle between them and you can actually see it wearing off.

    4. delete the stupidass slow message and either fix the dispel message to be accurate, or delete it if that isn't possible due to technical reasons.

Regardless of what we end up going with, I recommend also adding a message for when crazy skull wears off, since that would actually convey valuable information unlike most debuff messages.

Crazy skull's notification is really annoying when fighting Nameless since the debuff gets applied every five seconds. I just want to turn it off. In fact, I want to turn ALL of them off since all of their effects are extremely obvious and manageable to me.

Darkness: I see MISS MISS MISS MISS MISS MISS instead of normal damage numbers. Use ACP
Seal: I suddenly don't hear my loud and annoying throwing stars. Use ACP
Zombify: Oh no, I use twice as many elixirs, and our bishop doesn't use heal anyway because our DK is zerking
Crazy skull: Annoying but not a dealbreaker in my experience, especially in Nameless where your controls are reversed the entire time. I pressed left but went right? Okay, reverse that for the next 30 seconds
Seduce: I'm a bit torn on this one. The bosses that can seduce are generally very predictable (so people plan around them with sed mules and timers) or aren't strong enough to matter (Lyka in ToT, maybe dojo boss unless you're unlucky). You can't use Hero's Will very often so it's all a matter of planning ahead. I think VL's a different story. But being seduced is enough of a threat that extra notifications can let you react in time to save yourself if the battle is very chaotic.
    Slow: lol
Stun: Was there one for stun? Not like I can do anything when stunned, and autopot still works unless in dark sight. RIP my shad
Dispel: Not useful for me when playing NL but it's extremely important for mages

But that's just my experience. I vote for the first option you proposed. /toggle commands for these would allow those who want the notifications to keep them, and those who don't like them can turn them off.

I wonder if it would be viable to change the chat notifications to a yellow text notification (used for quests and golden bees). You're not completing any quests while bossing, and yellow text doesn't fill up the chat log, so it might be less annoying while still being helpful. It would still show up on screen a lot in certain bosses, so your brain might end up filtering it out eventually...

I apologize... It's on my fault for these changes. To me, I do find the messages helpful in some aspects as I play mostly Melee chars (Hero/Pally/Bucc) and my area of focus is more towards the bottom of the client while keeping the chat box open. I understand that other players won't enjoy seeing the debuff messages as I see it.

Currently, the debuff messages might be too annoying since the new debuff messages aren't entirely working properly (i.e. Dispel message when you haven't been dispelled or your party member did). I'm hoping the Dev is able to fix this but I'd understand if the Staff has to rollback the debuff messages.

Also, I think Staff is aware of Nameless Magic Monster's debuff. I did try to note in my bug thread but not sure if Zanacks or Devs got to read it.

    Who’s that?^_^'

On topic, I’m sure devs will fix the dispel message bug when they get to it. Changing colors is a possible client edit. We‘ve been looking into that for others kind of messages before. Not sure how far that edit I from being finished. Either way I personally think that giving players the option to turn on/off status messages via a command is the better idea. It’s similar to how smegas and Gachapon messages can be disabled.

the status effect alert was a common request for a long time, but i knew it would spur a thread like this whenever it got through.

obviously the toggle is the best user friendly middle ground for QOL like this and for everyone's different playstyles, so that's a given +1 from me.
i also think HW10 could still have some more perks here too. HW1-10 could also be what unlocks the higher, more specialized bossing effects to be available in the toggle window. HW10 could also unlock additional toggle features. it's an amazing luxury skill but i think it can still improve and add more bossing finesse to those that acquire and invest in it. HW10 could unlock custom color warnings, screen warnings, SFX, or even an alerting GFX layer on top of your character. i personally think hw10 also giving you instant damage reflect and seduce warning chats/gfx are great QOL perks for hw10. it should be a highly prized luxury bossing skill, and since it's essentially not necessary, it should have some amazing QOL perks to make it all the more desirable, especially as a VL drop

Do you want my opinion on whether it's a good idea to lock QoL features behind a 4th job skill whose mastery book costs 2bil and drops from a lv175+ boss?

i agree there should be the thread requested toggle options, for sure, +1. this was an inevitable thread if status warnings were added without the on/off option.

slightly off topic extra, and why i put them in a spoiler, i also think there should be additional options that unlock with hw10. instant DR warning, instant seduce warning, instant dispel warning, added SFX when afflicted with anything, top layer GFX warning over you when you're afflicted with anything, etc etc. goes great as luxury perks of hw10
