This new "telecasting" delay NEEDS to not be a thing.

First off, this isn't about telecasting itself; I've only learned what it was and how to do it a few days ago, I couldn't care less if it wasn't possible.
However, the method in which it was "fixed" has affected so much more. There is now a varying delay (seemingly dependent on how good your connection is) on all of the following actions:

• All Buffs / non offensive skills
• Sitting and getting off of a chair
• Changing equipment
• Picking up items
• Dropping items
• Entering through portals
• Using Potions

And probably more I've yet to come across.

Using ANY of these actions prevents you from following up immediately with anything mentioned in the list, including all forms of attacking as well, before the delay is over (Which for me, is around 1 full second).

For me, that means buffing my character is extremely clunky, picking up drops is god awful, using potions is dangerously slow (not to mention I can't even attack during it), and so many other small things I cannot do that made me enjoy the game.

It seems not everyone has this problem, at least not to this extent, which lead me to the theory that this delay is server based, and the severity depends on one's connection speed. It seems that using any of these actions, the game now must communicate these to the server before another is allowed, which leaves people like me with not-so-great internet with an almost unplayable experience.

Please, PLEASE find an alternative way to get rid of telecasting; I cannot enjoy this game in it's current state. I've always managed playing MapleStory with a slow internet connection just fine, but this is a whole new level of ridiculousness.

It seems i might be the only one who remembers there being Input delay on GMS. There would be a delay brief delay when looting, or casting certain spells. I wasnt a Nexon employee nor am I anyway aware of the behind the scenes here at Royals, but i would assume that delay had an important purpose. Would be nice if @Matt shone some light on why this change was made, and what purpose it serves us.

 

I'm not experiencing this effect, although i've noticed my latency has dropped by a fair margin recently. (from 150ms to around 60-70)
So there might've been a change with the host therefore giving everyone an average increase in latency depending on location?

E.g. I asked one of my friends and they were getting 270ms-290ms which is enough to make you notice a delay.

 

Since you mention potions being slow, are you still using the MapleRoyals.exe with modified date 2018-02-08?
The original setup that was initially released contained an outdated client, that had a potion delay. The correct modified date should be 2018-02-21.

Do you happen to know what your ping is now compared to before?
There is no potion delay with the latest client, for an example if I make myself lag with a high ping I get this result

can no longer Boss anymore thanks to the meso drop delay... MAJOR NERF to Shadowers...

 

This kind of delay really challenges my patience when playing a mage After each teleport, I have to tank some hit from the mobs first , then cast the other skills after 1 or 1.5 second. Removing telecast is fine, not a big problem, but removing telecast and then have a delay between each skill is a nightmare. I died twice when grinding in MP3 just because can not heal right after Slimy whip me with their mops
