Trading pet equips causes them to be wiped clean of any scrolls (scroll slots are reset). Dropping them does not do this, nor does trading them through the cash shop inventory. Tested with 2 different equips and this happened to both. Good thing all pet equip scrolls are for speed and jump so not that problematic.
