Saw another server do this recently, and given the number of Spanish-speaking players we have here, I think it might be a good idea.
In fairness, there are also a lot of Dutch and Hebrew and Portugese and etc etc. Add onto the fact that all SMEGAs must be in English, I think it would be best if we kept the ToS as is and allowed English to remain as the official language of MapleRoyals.
Moreover, unless some member of staff or a similarly trusted person is sufficiently proficient in both the original English and whatever language one looks to accommodate, an effort like this would prompt situations in which an accused party might have broken the English rules but, by virtue of a bad translation, not have done so in their own tongue. As such it undermines the authority of both staff and rules. It seems to me as though anyone confused by some portion of the terms and conditions they agree to could simply ask for that section to be clarified.
I see where you're coming from but I'll have to disagree. We are an English server. The lingua franca of the server is English. Spanish-speaking individuals are free to speak in Spanish in their own conversations, but we shouldn't have to accommodate their language proficiencies/deficiencies given that, as you've said, there are other options for Spanish-speaking players.
I really think you guys are adding a lot of symbolic meaning to this decision that does not really exist. A translated ToC does not change the official language of the server -- It's not as if we're making a multi-lingual website/forum/client. It's a single page -- There already is a whole section on the forum dedicated to "Other Languages." The translated ToC's could live there, not on the main page. A translated ToC helps non-native English speakers understand the rules of the server. A translated ToC is really not a major request or undertaking -- It is a one-time task that I'm sure many players on the server would be happy to help with. I think what it really comes down to is whether or not you want non-English speakers to be welcomed on the server. I can respect your decision either way, but I really don't buy the arguments stated here so far. I understand what you're saying, but I think you are dramatically overstating the difficulty of this task. Most lines of the ToC are fairly simple to translate to other languages without losing the intended meaning (essentially: You cannot do x. First time you do x, you will be banned 3 days. Second time, you will be banned 7 days. Third time, you will be banned permanently). It's not as if translating is some incomprehensible task that bilingual players will fail miserably at.
