This Christmas, may your days be filled with the sparkle of twinkling lights, the warmth of cherished memories, and the sweetness of festive treats!​

RULES

• All entries must be submitted by January 27th, 2026 at 11:59 PM server time.
• Each player is allowed to submit or participate in only one entry, and they must choose one of the three available categories for their submission.
  
• Each entry may include up to six players. Each player will receive the full prize if selected.
• Only the participating characters are eligible for prizes.
  
• Players may not reserve spots in the thread to submit an entry at a later time.
• The usage of AI-generated text, such as ChatGPT, is not allowed for the description of the submission.
  
• One entry will be chosen at random from the runner-ups (2nd & 3rd places) to win the Lucky Santa category. Players do not submit to this category.

• Screenshots must be unedited, uncropped, and take place in either "The Hill of Christmas" or "Shalom Temple"
  • To access these maps, please talk to Rupi in the Free Market to enter Happyville.
  • Then, talk to either Branch Snowman or Straw Hat Snowman to enter The Hill of Christmas.
  • Otherwise, talk to Simon to enter Shalom Temple.
  • You may purchase ornaments from Rudi in Happyville.

• All entries must abide by Game Terms & Conditions as well as the Forum Rules & Regulations. Failure to do so will result in your submission being disqualified.

• Submissions will be ranked by a panel of judges among our staff team. Any staff members that participate in this event will not be on the panel for voting.

Please be sure to follow this checklist to ensure the highest quality of your submission:
1. Make sure your resolution is on max.
2. Make sure you’re in windowed mode.
3. Minimize your map, your skill bar, and your chat log.
4. Disable all skill and item buffs.
5. Move your cursor off the screen.
6. Make sure your screenshot follows all the rules so it’s not disqualified.

Spoiler: What does Staff look for in the submissions?

Transparency about how winners are determined:
We usually select winners by individually assigning points to our favourite submission(s) per each category. The scoring system varies from event to event.

Staff members generally value creativity and thoughtfulness. We tend to see a lot of recycled concepts, so submissions that truly exhibit out-of-the-box thinking would help to grab our attention. For more complex forum events (i.e. Fashion Week), Staff members are provided with general guidance on the overarching themes of the event to encourage voting for submissions that best honor the spirit of the event. For most events, however, there is no guidance on how Staff members vote for their favorite submissions. In addition, while we do personally love naughty jokes, such submissions unfortunately rarely win. As Staff members, we do feel a bit hesitant about encouraging or endorsing such content (NSFW) through an official platform. As MapleRoyals is a PG-13 server, we appreciate your understanding of the above!

Hello everyone, some of you may have noticed that this year’s Christmas forum event is slightly different from previous years.

The key changes are as follows:

• The rules have been adjusted to be more consistent with other forum events, using the Halloween forum event rules as the baseline.
• Prizes are no longer awarded as first, second, and third place. Instead, they are split into categories, allowing players to participate in the category tied to the reward they prefer.

Previous Format (by ranking)
First Place - Flurry Bear
Second Place - Choice between Sea Lion Igloo Chair or Midwinter Aurora Chair
Third Place - 50,000 NX

Current Format (by category)

I understand that this is a significant change and may not be what everyone expected. However, the intention is to give participants more freedom to compete for the rewards they actually want, rather than being locked into a single ranking structure.
