I noticed that in other similar shoutbox ban appeals, Dave would ask the appellant if they remembered what they had originally posted on shoutbox that resulted in their ban. Fortunately in my situation I know the exact reason why I was banned, because I have the exact message saved. (removed by Dave) As a previous Forum Mod that knows the intricacies of this server's game terms and forum rules better than anyone else (and not just because I literally spearheaded their reforms), I feel the need to point out that the discussion of politics is not forbidden. However, given the intensity and escalation of the issue at hand, and given that infractions were handed out evenly to all parties involved, I am not here to contend the original forum ban. I will even overlook Bacon's rude dismissal and immediate closure following a juvenile lecture of my forum ban appeals at the time--a clear display of abuse of staff power and discretion. But that is besides the point anyways, as I have since carried out the full duration of my forum ban. I am here now to request a reversal of my shoutbox ban. As per the wonderful Dave (#1 Forum Mod btw), I was instructed to submit a forum ban appeal and "promise not to be political again" in order to remove my shoutbox ban. Since I am no longer forum banned, however, I have no choice but to submit this shoutbox ban appeal on the public ban appeal section. Furthermore, there is unquestionable ambiguity around what it means to "be political"--for many of us, our fundamental identity and existence is political. In any case, in the spirit of Dave's request, I indeed promise not to further discuss contentious political issues that may lead to divisions in this community. At the very least, I certainly promise not to discuss the currently ongoing conflict moving forward. Thank you. y'all i'm just trying to sop up the latest drama c'mon now
