IGN: brickmasterj Problem: Unable to get into the game. Details: Logging in is fine, can select character but then unable to connect and crashes to desktop. I have tested that it IS an issue with my character, friend logging in on my pc works just fine, and I tested on multiple pc's and laptops and virtual machines and I am never able to get into the game (various versions), always the same crash to desktop. I don't remember where my character left off last time I played but it might be a boss room or something that might be causing the issue (not sure). Thanks for any help.
Are you getting any type of error message after it crashes? Have you downloaded the new client as well?
The familiar "MapleStory has stopped working" error. Nothing else, since the game works fine, it's just my character (should point out I only have 1 character and 1 account so I can't really test if it's to do with my account over the character or somehting...)
Pardon me, the character is Jers One particularly interesting happened to me. On last version, I was able to get through the "trouble log in, try launching the game from nexon website"-screen. However on the new version released of today my luck has returned to what it was and I am once again unable to join the game...
What error did you faced? Could you elaborate more on the process you took before the error was shown?
Right, so let's do it graphically: So I start MapleRoyals, all good. Login as usual, all good still. Select ANY channel, get through without any trouble. Then things go south. Upon selecting character and clicking "Start" or double clicking, the following screen appears: So then I say OK, and try to either click "Start" or double click again, however then the game fades to black, then crashes to desktop with the following error message: Side note, this only happens on compatibility mode with Win7 and WinXPSP3, if the game is set to Win98 comp. mode the game gets stuck at that black screen, not crashing to desktop but simply locking up. Last time I was logged in I was somewhere in GH if I recall correctly.
are you using any sort of virtual box or machine services? some of the default MAC addresses from those are banned by hackers
Hmm I have installed on basically all of my machines either VirtualBox or VMWare and used that to try and play mapleroyals (from Linux). However as that never really worked I reverted to dual booting Windows, so I don't really understand how that might have gotten me mac banned? In any case, can I try mac changing software or a different physical ethernet card to see if I am mac banned or would that constitute cheating? Otherwise can I pm you my mac addresses so you can check or something? Ps sûkerbôle for life
the issue is that your original MAC address isnt banned so you can get this far into the game, however the login server recognizes your multiple MAC addresses and sees the default virtualbox MAC address too which is something like 00-27-0E-00-00-XX iirc, and those are MAC addresses that have been banned. So either disabling your virtualbox or changing the MAC address of that should allow you to log in fully.
