I hope this is the right place to post this and I'm not entirely sure if it is a bug or not, but every here and there I'll be unable to use magic/skills or go through portals.. usually until I attempt to pick up an item or kill a creature which is sometimes impossible, especially as a mage. I was wondering if its just server-related lag, or something fixable from my end? Thanks
I get the "portals not working" bug sometimes, and it only happens occasionally (i.e. much less than once a fortnight assuming around 10 hours of play a week) and it seems to always be fixed by relogging. I think that it'd be a very difficult bug to replicate? It doesn't sound like lag to me, because you wouldn't be able to pick things up/kill a monster by hitting it if you were lagged out.
CCing does fix it, but it happens quite a bit. Wasn't sure if there was a way to prevent it or something
If you could figure out what is causing this to happen would be great. It shouldn't be random. For example the issue with split road on maple island is to do with the pop up tip which appears near to where you enter the map. And you cannot do anything until you change channel.
I think it has happened to me more times at excavation site than anywhere else. But I just don't know what is weird about that map that could possibly cause it. It seems so random.
Have confirmed that the top left-hand portal out of Victoria Road: Excavation Site <Camp> bugs in the way described, and that using a potion does work to get through it.
Thanks Kat. Could it be that it happens after talking to a certain npc in the map? Or entering the map from a certain other portal for example? there should (hopefully) be some sort of trigger. Sorry if you have already tested those kinds of things.

I'm not sure. I've noticed it happening in quite a few maps to be honest, including somewhere in Perion and Ellinia. I just didn't make note of exactly where
I haven't found what triggered it yet - tried talking to various NPCs and nothing strange happened, tried going through it after coming out of GPQ and nothing strange happened.
