double-click/ run as admin does not run the client tried re-dling and re-installing tried to off my anti-virus too is this happening to other people too? any idea why and how to make it work?
Oh dear, please do not turn off your anti-virus. If you haven't already, turn it back on asap. You should instead be adding Mapleroyals.exe into your anti-virus's "exclusion list". Depending on your anti-virus, it could also be named "white list", "exception list", "permitted apps", etc. https://royals.ms/forum/threads/making-mapleroyals-an-exception-in-windows-defender.103839/ Unfortunately, your question does provide enough information for us to help. Which Windows version are you using (10, 11)? When you installed MR, do you see a MapleRoyals.exe shortcut in your desktop with a orange-red maple leaf icon or blank white file? When you right click the MR icon > select Properties > in the "Target" field of the shortcut, you should see where you had installed MR, could you open your file system explorer (Windows key + E), copy and paste the path without mapleroyals.exe, do you see mapleroyals.exe in the directory? If it isn't, another anti-virus or malware detection tool is still deleting mapleroyals.exe. I am not sure if adjusting compatibility settings is still needed because I don't do it. (Right click mapleroyals shortcut > select properties > select compatibility tab > choose windows xp service pack 3 or windows 7)
