Hi Royallers, New files are required to be downloaded for this update! Click here to go to the downloads page to download and install the new setup. This update addresses a vast number of different things ranging from balance changes and economy tweaks to game stability enhancements. The exact numbers pertaining to these changes can be found in the list further down in this post. We have been monitoring the state of the economy and the influx of new mesos over the course of the past years, and despite our best efforts to create meso sinks to combat this inflation we continue to see larger-than-desired net increases in circulating money. With this patch, we are introducing a change to %-based potion prices which, cost-wise, were very out of line compared to other potions. These include the %-based potions unique to New Leaf City and the Mushroom Miso Ramen found in CBD. The calculations for the new prices were based on global averages, taking every class into account. We intend to collect and analyse the data that this change will bring forth. In conjunction with this change, we are also reducing global drop rates of Mastery Books, Scrolls, Equips and Potions from regular monsters. As has been previously stated here, the droprate of MapleRoyals is higher than 2x of the original, and we have not been satisfied with the rates at which these items currently drop. To compensate, and to promote bossing, we have increased the drop rates of potions from instance-type Bosses. Furthermore, as a counterbalance to the perks of playing Night Lords and Corsairs, the two greatest single-target damage-dealers in the game, both classes have had the costs of recharging their projectiles increased. Night Lords in particular, who also benefit from a low potion consumption thanks to a combination of Shadow Shifter and naturally high avoidability. And last but not least, we have introduced some changes to Neo Tokyo and Temple of Time - two of our highest-level areas - to hopefully make them a bit more approachable and enjoyable. Events: Easter event has started. Click here for more information. Client Changes & Improvements: As we announced in the most recent Update 65 news, Windows XP is not officially supported anymore. However, from our testing we have received mixed results, so some users still on Windows XP may still be able to play. Though it is our recommendation that all players upgrade to a more modern operating system. A new dependency of C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015 is required for the client to launch - the MapleRoyals setup will attempt to install this for you if you do not already have it. Client resolution has been increased from 800x600 to 1024x768. The game will now run in a higher resolution, giving players an increased field of view and what we strongly believe is a much more pleasant overall gameplay experience. The new client replaces the old one, and will become the new standard resolution at which MapleRoyals runs. Support for the old resolution (800x600) will not continue. For players who are playing using virtual machines, it is important to ensure that your resolution is set to a minimum of 1024x768 before running the client. Improvements that will minimise the amount of graphical issues and crashes have been made to the client. Players should no longer experience visual glitches or client crashes during typical gameplay scenarios. Players should no longer need to take precautionary measures for avoiding graphical issues. For example, using a virtual machine, changing graphics at boss fights (i.e. gfx), or restarting clients before and/or after boss fights. Fixed a bug which caused monster’s HP bars, autopot, Rush, Corkscrew Blow, etc to stop working after a certain amount of time. Account username will now be censored within the Cash Shop and when mouse hovering over the bottom left corner of the in-game user interface. Password maximum length has been increased to 100. Fixed an issue where the game was only able to be launched in full screen for some users. The client will now open in windowed mode by default. Full screen mode is still accessible by pressing alt+enter once the client loads. Quickslot minimising/maximising has been removed, and quick slots will now permanently show in the bottom right of the user interface. HP/MP/EXP bars have been slightly increased in size. ‘Choose Explorer Type’ screen removed from character creation sequence. Channel fullness bars now require more users in each channel for them to show as full.
