Yeah idk, i doubt anyone cares about this, but i figured id make a thread and just throw an idea out there. I know we're in July and Christmas is months away but its never too early to be talking about Christmas. The version of Happyville that we use on Royals is actually 1 of 3 different versions. The first version of Happyville came with the original release of Maplestory in 2004 and was used until it was replaced in 2007. The original Happyville is what I first experienced Maplestory Christmases on. Its buildings were not nearly as colorful and unique looking as the version most of us are familiar with. But there were a lot of green pine trees with lights and snow on them, and it still felt like Christmas to me. There were less NPC's to interact with and there were only 2 or 3 quests in totality, but for many of us old Maplestory farts, this map is considered a piece of Maplestory Nostalgia that we might not ever get to see or experience again. In 2007 a more colorful version of Happyville was released and forever replaced the older map. This version completely changed the building structures to give them a more colorful and cartoony appearance along with adding new NPC's and quests to go with them. This is the map I believe we use on Royals and is probably the one most people are familiar with. Then again 2016 they released a 3rd and final version of Happyville before it was removed all together a year or two later. This version was basically the 2nd map but with a few noticeable changes. The brighter colors were toned down slightly and some of the more cartoony aspects of the buildings and some NPC's were reigned in. As a result this map felt more like a hybrid between the darker colors of the original and the more brighter and colorful of the 2nd Happyville map. I personally never got a chance to experience this map but from what i can tell, it looked like it had a lot of time and attention given to it, only for it to eventually be removed, never to be seen again. Basically what my request, or feedback is if you haven't already figured it out is to use one or both of these other 2 versions of Happyville. Maybe have a rotation of all 3 maps every few years. I understand using the original version may be a bit difficult as it is only contained in super ancient Maplestory versions that may not be readily available to rip the map from. The other alternate version of Happyville that was used is probably a little easier to grab as I believe it is still part of the game files of the current version of Maplestory. Using either of the other two maps obviously require some dev time to bring the maps up to be usable within Royals. Adding in the necessary npcs to the old or new Happyville maps would allow players to keep playing the content that has been offered in past years, just with a different map to experience it in. I would really like to see if this were at all possible, or even something anyone in the community besides myself would even want. If nobody responds, i pretty much know the answer. I hold out hope that there are others out there that would like to see something like this added. I tried finding images of the original Happyville to provide examples of the differences but that proved to be pretty difficult. The best I could do for images is from a single web blog from 2006. Every other image was too poor of quality or simply did not show enough to be worth using. And then i tried to find images of the other 2 maps to use as a comparison. Those too also proved to be difficult to find good images. 2004-2007 Happyville 2007-2016 Happyville 2016+ Happyville
