So, I've installed VMware Workstation 10 as a replacement of Sandboxie so that I could multi-client on Royals. However, I've received an error message which states, "Failed in finding proper screen mode Gr2D". I've tried the following to fix the issue:
    • Compability- I tried changing the compability to 98,SP3,Win7, etc.
    • Setup.exe
    • Update graphic drivers
    • Changing screen resolution
Despite attempting all the above, I am unable to fix the error.

Here are the necessary details on the VMware Specs:
    OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit
    Processor: i7-4720HQ CPU 2.60Ghz,~2.6Ghz
    Memory:1024MB RAM
    DirectX version: DirectX 11

    GPU

    Card: VMware SVGA 3D
    DirectX Features: All unavailable.

    ==============================================================================

    Details on my Laptop Specs:
    OS: Windows 8.1 64-bit
    Processor: i7-4720HQ CPU @ 2.60GHz (8CPUs), ~2.6Ghz
    Memory: 8192MB RAM
    DirectX version: DirectX 11

    GPU
    Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX970m
    DirectX Features: All enabled.

    Require technical support!

    VMware player is much better.

Will take note of that! I forgot to mention that I have also tried using VMware player with Windows XP and Windows 7 OS but the issue still persist.
No, I did not try installing VMware tools. What's the purpose and how does it work?

I don't know, never bothered to check what it actually does.
    It does solve some problems.

With VMware player you can easily install it by simply clicking on player > Manage > Install VMware Tools.

I have tried that as well, unfortunately, the problem still persist. Is there any alternate way? I'd suggest you could fix it through a remote server using Teamviewer 9?

Naah I don't do things like that, besides can't say I know why you are having this problem.

I would suggest installing a different OS like windows XP and not making any changes, all pre applied settings except hdd space and memory was already good for me.
Some laptops have had the gr2d error but no idea why you would get it from VMware.

Hmm, well, I have already tried everything and it seems the issue can't be solved. I guess this will take a while to find a solution if either of us can't think of any alternatives. :/

I have finally fix the issue, however I do not know how I did it nor can I trace what I actually did. >_< Well, thank you for dropping by to help tho, I appreciate the advice!

Got it working on VMware Workstation 10 with Windows XP OS + reinstalling VMware tool + changing compability to Windows98/me.
