I know I made a mistake and I deserved it. I just wanted to know if the ban is permanent or do I still get to see my newly made Corsair in boss fights that.
I never made past level 30 in the nostalgia Maplestory. This(GunHoGun) is is my very first character that I made it all the way to 4th job, and I was so excited that I couldn't fall asleep. I didn't even get to hear the sound affect of rapid fire because everyone was asleep and I muted the game.
I put a lot of efforts into this character, and it was heart stopping when I found out that I was banned the morning after my 4th job advancement.
I know I will probably think about it for the coming days, so please let me know if this ban is permanent. Thanks...

 

I recall an incident when I was farming leprechauns for equips to sell, And someone threatened to report me for botting. But I already explained to him that I was just occasionally watching a movie from a browser window right beside the game window. The guy was pretty cool about it and all so I didn’t bother to take a screen shot of the conversation we had.
I was personally engaged in farming equips with my hands on the keyboard and did not use any scripts to bot. I know a lot of players have shared experience of how they framed scrolls while watching a movie on the screen but I didn’t know this would constitute a macro botting and even a permanent ban.
I implore you to look further on this issue please.

 

The map I was doing this was Phantom Forest: Creeping Evil. It has two leprechauns spawning very close to each other, and I was farming equips between the two.
I could see how it could be judged as a bot movement because one can just burst fire twice, turn around, burst fire twice, wait a couple second, then repeat. However, I can swear on Bible that I didn’t use a program to do this but just my hands.
I realize not responding to the guys for a long time is another contributor to the claim, but then I again, I was too distracted by the movie and I’m sorry for multitasking while playing Royals.
If it’s what it takes to play the game, I will never do this again and fully engaged in playing if I’m given another chance.

 

As I said in the above post, I was too distracted, but my hands were on the keyboard without any outside program to help me. When I realized that he was trying to get my attention I responded back immediately.
Given that I don’t even know how to script and am punished with macro botting instead of Robotic Playing without given a benefit of a doubt, I feel very cheated by the person who reported me.

 

Please consider further and give me a benefit of a doubt. Heck, I would just go as far as disconnect instead of afk, not ever going to creeping evils, never mute the game at all times, alway only have the game window on the screen. Plus that, if anyone still report me even if I am paying 100% attention while playing from now on, ban me permanently and you will not see me on ban appeal ever again.

 

In the conversation I had with the person he said he was about to write a post about it because I was unresponsive, to which I explained to him that I was just distracted and offered him the map ownership. After the conversation he did not insist that he will report me, and I thought he understood my case given the tone in his language. I did not think he was still going to report me after the conversation so I haven’t given much thought about it after the incident.
I know there are all kinds of players in this server, and I’m sure he is a pretty cool guys in the real world. And perhaps we had the conversation just after he submitted the post.
After all I know you are the full authority in this issue and you have all the rights to deny my appeal. I just wanted to let my part of the story out there in hope that I can just experience the game in its completeness.

Honestly anyone could’ve done this without looking at the screen. I saw a bowmaster doing the same thing but with a sweeping mule and spawning hurricane.
I did not think making an attacker would use so much Meso and that was the best method for me. I saw on a suggestion by other players I can farm leps.
Nonetheless, It gets boring easily so I thought maybe watching a movie with game window on the screen wouldn’t hurt much right? I was willing to sit in front if the computer and grind it out, why? Because it was worth it! I put a lot of efforts to try and level up my Outlaw by buying leech, but it cost a huge sum of money past lv75.
I was not even technologically inclined to think that this could be done by a program.

 

Occasionally the place where I stood would spawn a tree so I had to kill it by moving to the right of the far right leprechaun. I notice this because I can hear my shots become normal attacks with my gun, so I actively adjust myself(something that a bot can not detect and adjust). I didn’t response to him because i was distracted and he did not give me a benefit of a doubt to trade request or pm me, something I would be able to hear immediately.

 

As you can tell, I am actively following this post. It’s because it’s truly the fruit of my work that is going away. My work and not the work of a robot. People who actually bot could careless about it and move on with their next project, but I do not have that skill. This is my last straw, so please understand why I am bombarding you with messages.
While the post was idle, I happen to lay my eyes on other macro botting ban appeals, and I realized that most people received trade requested and pm-ed for up to 10 minutes before they are reported.

 

I have a pet equip(item ignore) that allows my pet to pick up everything other than green bandana(sells for 3k I think?) Could that be the reason why it appeared I was not picking up equips? I always get full inventory by 20 minute or so. Sometimes my inventory fills up so a couple of equips are left on the ground. I didn’t realize the inventory were full due to the same reason why it took me so long to respond to the reporter— I was distracted. There’s no point of doing this if I can’t pick up those equipments, besides green bandana.

 

Plus, my use slots are usually almost full, so My pet might occasionally not pick up All cures, but I was aware of that and didn’t bother to pick up.

 

I was at a much higher level to receive any significant exp from leps. Unless my intent was to get banned, which I could applied to get self-ban, there is really no justifiable cause for me being there besides making Meso.
I know you guys do not disclose the proof videos, but I am just curious to see what gave you that notion.

 

Please give me one more shot at this. I’ll even accept double the punishment of a first offense of Robotic Play, but it’s just too harsh for permanent ban based on a prediction.
The player who reported me does not as many experience as you when it comes to this kind of issues. That is why I rely on your judgement to give me a benefit of a doubt. Let me prove myself.

 

I have been farming there for a long time, and I estimated that a full inventory would take about 20-25 minutes depending on the drop rate, and 15 minute sometimes(rarely). I can make about 10m per full inventory. At first a few times I stared at the whole 20 minute process without doing anything else. I grew a habit to watch a movie on the side while farming after it got very boring, but I always have a 20 minute timer to remind me.
During the incident, my timer still had 5 minutes left and I was not paying attention to the game screen. Five minutes later, I looked back and saw the person tried to talk to me in all chat, so I replied. Beside, there was no way I could pick up those high-value equips because my inventory was filled with them!
If it's possible, I urge you to look my at my previous activities at creeping evil as you can see that I usually go sell those equips no long after my inventory were full.
