Not 100% on this. I think the old system didn't force you to actually cast your vote, so you could just put in your ID and never actually go to the voting page. This way, you're required to vote for Royals. Maybe due to Royals slipping in the rankings?
NX is a reward for voting on the server through gtop. The previous system didn't force you to vote through gtop to get your NX, because it takes ~2 minutes for the server to communicate with GTOP and thus award you the NX. So people were able to bypass it, not truly vote for royals, and still gain NX. This way you are actually forced to vote for the server like you should be if you want your NX. Many other pservers do it like this as well, we just didn't have it because old source didn't let you stay logged in while voting.
I love how so many people are either confused or upset by this. Pretty sure this is why the GM's saw our voting staying "constant" even though we were dropping in the ranking.
This is one hell of an upgrade for future when server goes back to open-register. The last 2 weeks Royals was getting only 600 votes per day, yesterday after the change it was doubled to 1200.
