hi there was questioning myself for some week now. Vr look fantastic but my current setup doesn't support it (the occulus benchmark program tell me that it might not work) current setup: intel i7-3770k (water cooled) 8gb ddr4 ram asus p8z77-i mobo and an asus gtx 670 setup i'll be making intel i5-6550k i5-6600k (water cooled) 8gb ddr4 ram asus maximus viii impact and an asus gtx970 so is it worth it to make this upgrade? I mean currently gaming fine with my machine... just I so want to be able to ise VR headset & game... yeah im working with mini-itx cause i so love the small form factor of my desktop
your right 6600k is the one i was looking for... keep my 3770k even if the occulust program says it's not meeting the minimal req? and the processor is "aging" was released in 2012... how much time will it keep with those new thing (even under oc)
yeah but that 6600k use socket 1151 and my 3770k use 1155 (IIRC) , so i'll get a new mobo ... anyway ill make a new complet system at that point and give my "old" to someone who need it ... but the real question is : Will the VR really worth it? ... saw it die once (twice if you count the nintendo try)... when i was kid .
I wouldn't bother much about VR for the next couple of years at least, let other people test it for any side effects Definitely here to stay, this is a goldmine and the technology will be able to support it!
my new computer is here. will post picture of the build once i'm home... probably in a new tread (if windows update can stop effing me up )
