I was browsing in the free market when suddenly someone sends me a trade request and asks me if he can buy any earrings off me. lets just call him wbb. I put on a clean lv 30 earring, thinking its not worth much, he asks if I just got 1. I out on another pair of clean lv 30 earring. He puts 800k in to the trade and pressed trade. The second I press trade, I notice the trade window is still up, thinking it was lag i waited for a while. Then I noticed that noone was moving. I realize a disconnect was incoming, and it did. afterwards I tried to log on, the client said my account is already logged in or that the server is under inspection. this lasted for about 5 mins. When I did finally log on, my 2 earrings have disappeared from my inventory with no 800k meso. After logging back in, I see him walking around in the free market. I send him a trade request to which he immediately declined. I whispered to him several times with no response before giving up entirely. I know that the server crashes every so often, but I'm okay with that, but this seems way too coincidental. Was this some weird new server dropping hack? who would do that over 2 pair of lv 30 earrings? or was this just a coincident? lend me some insight friends. TLR: got random trade request, crashed when i tried to finalize the trade. couldnt log back on for 5 min, when I did my traded items were gone and I didnt recieve his mesos. scam or naw?
Sounds just like the server crashed while you were trading, and there was some hiccup in between. Doesnt sound like a scam to me at all- especially not over a couple pairs of clean earrings.
Just a tip: If the client says you're already online, login on the website and click on 'Character fixes'. If you click the button 'fix', the client will disconnect your character so you could login again.
^ The above doesn't work if the server is having difficulties, however. You'll just keep running into the same issue until the server is back up.
Sila is probably right. If you're in trade progress with items in trade, you might lose them if server crashes. Happens to people who transfer items back and forth between characters all the time, just message a GM.
happened to me too before server crashed when i was swapping my int gear lost it all! id suggest what paint said.
^^ what everyone else said and maybe he declined the trade request because he knew he didn't have business with you anymore
