Throughout the life of Maple Royals, some very questionable changes have happened. Some very awesome, some very bad. I HIGHLY suggest we have a dedicated group of experienced players that dedicate volunteer time to helping Royals GMs make educated decisions on future changes or adjustments to the game. Classic Maplestory was a very flawed game, so Maperoyals continues to change aspects of the game to make this experience engaging and timeless for players. The Feedback section of MapleRoyals is flooded, just about everything has already been discussed. Rather than continue to repeat posts or revive old conversations, a team can compile information and have those discussions with the community. A Game Balance Team member should only have access to a Discord for discussions and a test server that the Devs give them for testing changes. This can be done for events, testing, bossing, PQs, etc. This can greatly reduce workload on current GMs and Devs. If Von Leon is coming soon, and maybe even PB, I am quite worried about the implementation of these on the server's current economy and think some major adjustments need to be made to reduce power creep and avoid the same mistakes Nexon made with Maplestory. The more minds we have on this, and community involvement, the better. We want to keep this server nostalgic, but also playable, forever.
This topic has been discussed for a long time, both internally within Staff and externally throughout the community. Joel and I have previously mentioned recruiting for potential roles that involve gameplay testing and balancing. Matt has also officially commented on this topic in this post. Unfortunately, at this point in time, I don't know how realistically feasible these positions would be given certain logistical hurdles that these roles would present internally. I understand that this is an extremely vague response and I apologize for that, but this is probably all I can say on the matter. That being said, I will also tease that we are in the process of pushing out new and improved applications for Staff... as we have been for the past year lol. I can't give any official confirmation as a Forum Moderator, but I will let you all know that in general we are hoping for more GM Interns to support the GMs in their ongoing work maintaining the server. And in particular, we are searching for GM Interns who may also be able to contribute their in-depth game knowledge and experience!
From what i remember, i think one of the main logistical hurdles was who's pc is this test server running on and if people can be trusted to access someone's pc private server. And if another server needs to be paid for, whos paying for that. Correct me if i'm wrong. But i appreciate your response regardless.
lol anyway i just like giving creative commons feedback. if there was an application approved tespia team, id consider it, but idk how helpful I'd actually be there, not that they'd need my help anyway. the feedback forum is a really interesting insight into the overall player's wants, needs, and trends, and places of neglect, and i learn a lot listening here, it improves my own feedback ...even kenny has "hero's will 20" growing in his head now heeeheeee as interesting as tespia is, i feel like people would use/apply for it selfishly (just to brag or be a weird celeb about it) or to sabotage it. theres only a handful of people/players i would even consider. if i were staff id make applicants sign NDAs with instant perma bans attached to breaching them. no talking about tespia outside of it, or even mentioning that you're part of the team. security is the first and most important thing when i think about a tespia team, and reading the forums here, playing the game, hearing about ban appeals, well, theres a lot of fucking weird toxic people who play this game lol there are definitely some concepts and content that I'm highly interested in and would like to be a part of, I won't say exactly what, but im sure the tespia would just be pretty straightforward objective feedback, boss tests and times, team strategies and phasing, QOLing, luck assassments, and bugfixing. if i were staff I would definitely do these for events/holidays, theres almost always a patch up to fix something in them.
