    I stumbled upon it by sheer luck in 2013. I stayed because I knew it would be the last MapleStory Private Server I ever set foot on.

    I was searching for an old school maplestory before all the junk and Maple Royals looked the best. I downloaded expecting to have a short, nostalgic time but here I am still ~f2

    I heard about oldschool version of runescape and I knew someone somewhere would be hosting an "oldschool" version of maple story.

    I joined MapleRoyals with my GF at the time because we wanted to experience the "good old days" of Maplestory again.

    The original intention was to stay for a week or two to get a taste of some of the nostalgia. The one week stay turned into several months because of the awesome and friendly community. I couldn't care less about the gameplay, but I do love the community of MapleRoyals.

    When I look at a server I look at the admin and his potential in keeping a server. That's why I joined MapleRoyals in specific. When I joined this was a 10x exp server, I prefer a 2 to 5 exp server, but it was the only decent one. Then after discussing the server wiped and became a 4x exp server.. Much better.

    I fell into a deep nostalgia stumbling upon slime tree music on youtube one day, then a few days later I saw my roommate's friend playing this oldschool server on a Mac and was instantly sold.

    It was a sign indeed

    Nostalgia. I played a bit back before aran, but never really got far. It's hung with me and I had looked at making a private server for my friends, brother, and myself for a while. Recently resigned on making my own and instead discovered this one. Very glad I did. It's been enjoyable, I like that there's a decently large community, and it doesn't have the 'bloat' classes. I plan on actually making it somewhere this time to really see what's in the game. And to finally get that NL I've always wanted to play.

    My friend who played EMS with me, knowing I quit when I got a mac, told me they had a mac client so I came to check it out and maybe play for a week or two. It's been 2 years and 10 months ish now sooooo, I guess I liked it here :D

    In all seriousness, I planned on enjoying the game for a while and leaving aND THEN I MET THE PEOPLE AND I FELL IN LOVE WITH THE MOST AMAZING COMMUNITY AND SO MANY PEOPLE HAVE BECOME AMAZING ADDITIONS TO MY LIFE AND YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE AND I LOVE YOU. :love:

    Felt like playing MapleStory again, checked gtop and found Royals. I don't remember why I chose this server specifically, but I'm extremely glad that I did !!!!!!

    I stayed because I enjoy playing the game. No complicated explanation :D

    I got bored of playing a bunch of the higher version servers and wanted to go back to something more old school and so I stumbled upon here. I've quit and gone to other servers a bunch of times yet, I still find myself always coming back here in the end because there just isn't a community out there like there is here. Although lately I haven't been playing at all, not because I've gotten bored here, it's just that maple isn't as fun to me as it used to be. But I've stayed because of the awesome people I've met since I've first joined.

    Right so I'm fuckin stupid and didn't know how to use Bannedstory and I wanted to see how my Extalia character looked with a blue maple dana, so I looked around for high rate servers that had it so I could just recreate my character on there and see how the dana looked
    I tried two servers before I saw Royals's banner with "fresh out of beta" or whatever underneath, so I tried it out
    I didn't find that elusive blue dana I needed but I was having fun for the time I was here

    I shit you not I was typing up a goodbye thread when the forum blew up with the first anniversary event announcement
    I got the fuckin dana and now I can't leave

    tl;dr I just wanted a fuckin maple bandana
