I'm new(ish) to maplestory, and the term "funding" is used very often and often very vaguely used. What DOES it mean? Where does most of the money go to?
For example, I'm thinking of creating an archer. What would i need to buy to be considered funded?
I understand what HP washing is, but that's where my knowledge of funding ends. ~f4

    Thanks all!

P.S. Also, bowmaster or marksman? (keeping in mind I never finish what i start and probably won't get to 4th job) (and I've never bossed before, if PQs don't count)

Good point haha, funding used priti broadly yah. Funded pretty much means you've got above average scrolled items, thats my understanding... So whenever someone says he's funded, he'll most likely have damage to match or some guud HP wash action going.. :p You dont have to live up to the standard of being funded though, game is plenty of fun without being funded, but if you want to do it right as a new player main focus should be Common INT items {if you plan to hp wash} or Common ATT items & a lv. 43 & 64 Scrolled Maple weap to last you until atleast 100'ish o,O

Also small tips like exchanging 15 leathers bought from the FM for a profitable price, make them into WG's and save up 10k nx for a store to sell them in is what started my moneymaking journey @ da very start :p

PS: people dont really go by how funded you are, most prefer a friendly & talkative party member anywayz!

Btw, save up NX and use it wisely! Dont get scammed by selling AP resets to ppl in FM, there's much more money to be made in gacha'ing all the nx, believe bro :p

By including this p.s. I would have to say forget about what being funded is.

Enjoy the game. If you focus on getting int gear or ap resets only to not end up using them it'll ruin the fun.

When people fund a character it usually means it's a second, third or even forth character that they have put thought it to. Funding could be good/perfect gear, he washing or a badass nx look.

I'd go BM but that's personal bais

    Glhf!

Funded means that this isn't your first character and that you have a decent amount of mesos+gear from another character. So basically, you are stronger than others who are at the same level and/or you have the luxury of hp washing. A fully funded archer, if you are washing especially, would mean that you would need to leech it for quite a bit of time so unless you have mesos or a bishop to leech yourself with, you can see why it can be quite pricey.

This isn't to say that you shouldn't make an archer your first char. If you like it, you can definitely go ahead and do it because you can still boss without HP washing, you just need to have HB.

Also, I highly disagree with the gach statement. If you are going for mesos, you should use it on items such as AP resets, tp rocks, safety charms, etc. These will net you a guaranteed profit while gachapon is highly risky. 30k nx can net you 20m if you gach, whereas if you had just bought AP resets it would be guaranteed 85.5m if you sold them one at 9.5m each. When you're just starting out, it's better to take guaranteed money imo because then you don't have to worry about having no money. Later on once you have some more breathing room, you can switch to gaching if you'd like, but again if you do the math I believe that buying ap resets and such nets you more money unless you hit a jackpot item (which is very very rare).

I heard marksman are very fun to play, but they're not as popular as BM because they're weaker. Either way though, you'll be able to find parties due to the great SE buff. Good luck and have fun! I personally really like the way hurricane looks so I chose BM ^^
