What should be my course of action with my Hermit? Note: This Hermit is my main and I don't have any side characters to fund him/not really interested in making a Bishop.
Farm or buy 60% Shoe JUMP to use, get a Zakum helmet as soon as possible, then look for a higher attack Work Glove and save for an ATT cape.
I think you're heading in the right direction in terms of mesos -- NPCing drops, selling APRs, etc. Maybe save up your mesos until you reach 100mil or something, then purchase a Zakum Helmet since they're usually +15 STR, DEX, INT, LUK -- and they're around 50mil. I think it's fine for you to have a lot of DEX equips around your level since you would probably Lv. 80 Thief Tops & Bottoms. But I think past Lv. 110 you can start focusing on buying more LUK / ATT equips.
At your current gaming state I'd suggest zhelm because it is more cost effective for you. Chances are you will get the same stats on average between a zhelm and scar/targa helm, but scar/targa service is more expensive than zhelm. From there on, slowly save your mesos and get wa75+ RC, then wa15 glove, wa10-12 cape, wa8-10 shoes. You can try your luck to scroll better earrings and top/bottom while you save your mesos to buy the aforementioned items, but if you decided that scrolling isn't your thing, then buy the top and bottom before getting the RC because the dex from both of these equip will help you in getting the 140 dex requirement on the claw.
If you're hardworking, you can farm meso very easily at Leprechaun (this map). Takes quite a while to reach the 1b miles but if you persevere and don't spend too much unnecessarily, you will get there eventually. Good luck and all the best.
You would need to go Zakum eventually, for the Triple Throw core (unless you already gotten it) Off the megaphones and set graphics to lowest / GFX at each body if you gonna Zakum again
