I dunno why you are surprised - look at how much information and calculations the staff need to do regarding this case.
its not some mere 3b-4b-5b not making sense, its hundreds of billions.
the easiest thing is to say that it doesnt make sense and shut down the case, but you see they take the time for it.
don't you remember saledor's case? that was a "lower" amount of mesos one, and it took a long time.

Do people get compensations when their name is cleared? Or their compensation is just time away from Royals?

They have given some compensation in the past depending on the situation

I'd assume depends on the case.
there isn't a compensation for every wrong ban.
you did something that counts as suspicious (in terms of someone being banned), explain yourself, then you are free to go.

Makes sense for casual players like me since I don't lose out on much. But for hardcore farmers, I'd think any ban is cutting hugely into their profits. I'd think a pat on the back and you are free to go would feel like being spat in the face.

So what you are saying is - treat people that grind & farm harder differently, give them special treatment.
    What that causes? discrimination.
You discriminate people who are "casual players that don't lose on much" since they are not so important, and give a VIP treatment for people with much to lose, hard farmers, grinders, and people with a fortune (lets say saledor / solsticio in this case).
As a player base, we are all equal.
There is no reason to get treated differently in terms of compensation or in any kind of way, just due to the amount of 'properties' owned or the amount of time we grind the game for.

Now - It's totally possible that this is nothing close to what you actually mean, but you see how it might look? and that's something a man who woke up 2 minutes ago understood (means you really don't have to think hard on this one to see that's wrong).

it only took a long time because saledor withheld information that could have freed him earlier, the moment he shared those details with tim, he got freed shortly after.

i don't think people are left in ban appeal limbo for no reason or that people are even banned for just "suspicions", maybe tim is seeing something that doesn't add up, who knows, we can only speculate.

if people did get banned just for "suspicions", i would be banned too since i got reported by some jealous loser.

Yes and no, seems like a slippery slope fallacy. Not all players should be treated the same. Not discrimination just appropriate. It's about what you put into the game, let's say you train/grind and farm 10 hours a day for 2 years nonstop, and you get banned for rwt suspicion. And in fact you were innocent and it was all a misunderstanding. It's great that you can dust it off and go "Yay I can play again!" But there must be an inkling somewhere inside you thinking I should get compensated to a degree and I think you should. But the thing is you'd have to be innocent. I feel like if I were falsely banned, I should get some sort of compensation too but I won't care as much as a player since I don't get much to begin with; definitely not the same as someone that's willing to farm 11M Nx in 3 months. I'm just saying proportional compensation should be given. The 11m NX has nothing to do with sols here, just random example.

To prevent further misunderstanding, I'm not saying preferential treatment to players with money across all situations, I'm saying in the cases of falsely accused, players that grind more have more to lose than those who don't. So it's fair to assume they should get a large compensation.

I understand what you are saying, and again - I'm repeating myself saying that I dont think that in your mind you have any malicious intent, but after reading your explanation multiple times, which I completely understand since It does make sense - think about it this way.
I'm a player with (example) 200m mesos to my name.
You are a player with (example) 20b to your name.
We both play around the same amount of time, you do play a bit more than me, and I only play couple of hours per day while you play a couple hours more.
You've grinded more events / bosses since you are a lv 170 washed NL (again, for an example).
I just got to 4th job and I'm bing chilling with a lv 120 bishop.

we both get banned for suspicious activity. we both get unbanned after around 3 weeks.

By your logic, I shouldn't receive compensation, cause I barely had anything going for me.

BUT - you should receive compensation, since you have the larger amount of mesos / items / more time invested into the game.

or per say, I should receive X compensation, while you should receive X + 100 compensation due to different situations.

but does it really matter if someone who casually played a few hours a day, and someone who grinded hard per day, both get banned for around the same time?

Both players would stop playing and stop grinding, regardless of the amount of grinding that was put into their characters.

See where the issue is? I respect and partially agree with you, as players with "bigger banks" to show would probably feel the loss a bit harder, but It should be equal to everybody who receives the same amount of time of the ban.

Some of the answers being given seem a bit vague and even evasive. Not saying that is the intention, but surely it could not have helped. Like for example, this.

Instead of actually answering the "how" question that was posed, this answer is instead answering the un-asked question of "why". That is the kind of thing somebody would do if they are trying to avoid actually answering the question.

Again, I'm not saying anything about intentions. Just pointing out a potential issue here.

I didn’t withhold any information from Tim. Please do not comment on my case if you have no idea what you are talking about.

They took that long for my ban appeal because they were understaffed and it happens. I’m not blaming them for it but pinning the blame on me for “withholding information” is just wrong.

I’ll write this as someone who was falsely banned without any evidence and went through the entire process of appealing my ban and succeeded because I provided factual information to the best of my ability at any given point in time.

I was in contact with Tim and GMs(report) throughout my ban appeal and my understanding as to why they took so long was because GMs/Staff do not want to leave any stone unturned.

they may have banned me for suspicion of rwt but I’m pretty damn sure they figured out I was innocent within the first two months. They just needed time to make sure I didn’t commit any other rule breaking like vote abuse or account sharing etc, which I do not mind since it’s within their prerogative.

Anyone who read my ban appeal can see that the goal posts were constantly changing (which is not wrong or against their rights to do so) but that’s why they took so long. If anything it just shows professionalism and how meticulous they are.

it had nothing to do with me withholding information because I never did and never intended to. Why would I have to lol. They can see everything.

that being said, there can be improvements to the ban appeal sections, preferably by only banning people once there is evidence. I used to think they only banned people after solid evidence was found but this changed after I got banned.

Lastly I’ll like to add that I do not know this solsticio person but if he/she is truly innocent I hope they get unbanned soon. I know how it feels but I know Tim will figure it out.

Dear @Bacon, if you are allowed to, please let me know what, if any, information I withheld from my ban appeal.

I had a private dm with Tim, along with several reports (which has been closed by GMs for reasons such as "this is not the proper forum to discuss this") during my ban appeal where I provided all information, including but not limited to me spending 20 minutes making a word document calculating my own wealth for Staff. If there was any information which was given to the other GMs I can assure you to the best of my knowledge, it was provided to Tim from the start.

If there was information that you think I withheld, kindly let me know because as everyone knows, it was a calculation of my wealth for 7 months which I barely took any screenshots off and everything was based off my memory save for some screenshots I took of me getting 7 onyx apples in 1 run of apq.

Kindly confirm this information with the GMs and Tim specifically (via my dm with him on forums) as I can guarantee I did not have any information which I purposefully knew and decided that Staff should not know about it.

Lastly I would like to say that I am not assuming anything @Bacon . I think its safe to say and within my prerogative to, state that I was banned without evidence because if there was evidence against me I would not have been unbanned. I know for a fact that I did not break any rules so how am I assuming anything? If anything don't you think its the GMs and people who reported me who are the ones making assumptions?

    Do advise me.

@Donn1e to the best of my knowledge, save for replying to my ban appeal at the start and asking initial questions, GM Bacon was not involved with my ban appeal and everything was communicated between me and Tim. Correct me if I am wrong @Bacon because the last thing I would want to do is take credit away when its due.

In any event, to the best of my knowledge I guarantee that there was not any information that was wilfully withheld. Even if there was information that was missing, it did not even come to mind which I believe everyone can understand no matter how good one's memory would be they would not remember everything for the entirety of 7 months. Do enlighten me if there was any though.

And for the sake of clarity, what reason would I have to withhold information? Does it make sense for me to constantly ask for updates on my appeal whilst simultaneously withhold information which would help me?

Its appalling to me, absurd even, that I have to explain myself on this matter when everyone knows I am innocent and I have proven myself to be. Not once but twice during my time in Royals.

Hello all, will be locking this thread due to the following reasons:

    - such threads that are meant to discuss the ban tend to deviate from the intended purpose and result in arguments, speculations or the emergence of conspiracy theories (derailment)
    - potential arguments or flaming for someone else's Ban Appeal (flame war)

The Staff is mindful of the Feedback submitted by Solsticio regarding the need for rework of Ban Appeals or how it can be improved (https://royals.ms/forum/threads/ban-appeals-are-a-meme-and-need-a-clear-rework.219032/). However, the thread was eventually locked due to its divergence into discussions about the permanency of certain bans, Staff leniency, and suggested changes to the rules.

If players have concerns regarding Ban Appeals, Staff leniency, or proposed changes to the T&C, we would encourage you to submit the Feedback via the right channel - https://royals.ms/forum/forums/feedback.3/

While our preference is to keep the threads open for discussion as much as possible, we ask for your understanding regarding the potential need to lock certain threads. This is necessary to prevent derailment or escalation of flame wars on the forums. Your cooperation is much appreciated.

Note: no WP was issued for the comments made in this thread.
